"Oh? And then what?"
"Then we walked home and after sometime we held hands well not hands technically, but our little fingers and it was the most romantic thing ever!" Jungkook chirped on the phone.
"My little baby has grown so much!" Jungkook's mother cooed.
" What happened then?" Yoongi asked impatiently.
The three of them, Yoongi, Jungkook and Jungkook's mother were on facetime together. Yoongi had known younger for a long time and so he had met his mother a couple of times. They three were really close. Jungkook's mother considered Yoongi to be her own son.
"Then while walking we joked around a bit and he asked me about my finals. And when we reached my building. He just couldn't let go, neither could i. So we stood there looking at each other for some time." Jungkook started blushing. He snuggled more into the comfort his bed offered him.
"Stop blushing and give us the tea kooks." Yoongi looked at him expectantly.
"Yeah kookie! Did you guys kiss? Did you invite him inside?" His mother squealed.
"No mom! We didn't kiss. Yes, I did invite him inside but he said that he had to go. He had some plans with his brother." Jungkook said, remembering the night before. He really wanted Taehyung to come inside. " And then while we were parting i told him that i might not be dropping by the parlour because of my exams which are starting two days from now." He ended.
"Meh, you could have done better." Yoongi said nonchalantly, he was honestly expecting some juicy details.
"Oh come on Yoongi. I can imagine how our baby would have been blushing. He is really your ideal man, isn't he kookie?" His mother asked. She felt genuinely happy for her son.
"Honey, come here! Kookie and Yoongi are here!" Jungkook's mother called out. After hearing some crashing and heavy footsteps, Jungkook's dad emerged from behind his mom and smiled sheepishly into the camera.
" Hey kids! How are my babies? What were you talking about?" Jungkook's father asked offering a sweet smile, it was obvious from whom did Jungkook get his bunny smile.
"Honey we were talking about Taehyung!" Jungkook's mother exclaimed. His father's face grew drooped and lost all the happiness that it had before.
"Oh. Well, i am going to go. See you later kids." He said and walked back out of the room. Jungkook's mother looked back and sighed.
"Mommy..." Jungkook signed back.
"Don't worry baby, i'll handle him. Just concentrate on your exams okay? Do well. I am proud of both of you." His mother said, passing on a warm smile and logged off.
Yoongi assured Jungkook that everything was alright and both the friends bid their goodbyes.
Jungkook loved his dad very much but his dad loved him more. More than anything and anyone.
For most fathers their daughters held a special place in their hearts but as for Jungkook's, he held the place. Yongsun had always been very independent and smart. She never had needed protection; she was a tough kid. But whenever little Jungkook hurt his knee while playing, he ran off to his daddy to seek comfort in any way he could. His dad treated him like a little prince and the family loved every second of watching the wholesome moments between the duo.
So Jungkook's father's behaviour was understandable when one day Jungkook informed them of his first real crush. His eyes had been gleaming and his cheeks were dusted red. He told his parents about Taehyung. After that day whenever Taehyung's topic came up, his father would try to avoid it and later his mom found his father alone in his bedroom looking through their kids' childhood albums.
