Our episode opens up with a recap of the previous episode before we cut back to where we left off, with Natalie re-uniting with (what supposedly are) her parents. Natalie bursts into tears and hugs both of them, all the while Daniel looks in suspicion. Rodney then zips around natalie's "parents" heads followed by Natalie introducing the two to Rodney. Natalie's "mother" asks if the little skyfish is their pet, and Natalie tells them that Rodney has been on so many adventures with her and her partner he can be considered a part of the team almost. Natalie then introduces her "parents" to her partner Daniel, saying that he's Animal X's newest recruit. Daniel then shakes hands with Natalie's "father" while giving him a look of suspicion. "Nathan" then turns his head to his wife "Maria" to tell her that he suspects that their daughter's new friend doesn't like them that much. Daniel then tells Natalie that he doesn't trust these people, Natalie asking why as they're her parents which is a good enough reason to trust them. Daniel tells Natalie that he has a suspicion that these two aren't her real parents, followed by Natalie slapping Daniel in the face telling him that she's finally found her parents after spending her entire childhood as an orphan and that she wants to believe they're the real deal because it means that the three of them can finally be a family again. Daniel frustrated with how out of touch with reality Natalie has become tells her that she already HAD a family: himself, Bill, Rodney, Helena, and Tony. Natalie then tells Daniel that it's not the same before siding with her "parents". however the two hear a loud rustling noise in the bushes and out steps the same Gbahali from before, with the spear still stuck in its side. Natalie then whips out her electric batons to protect her parents who cower behind her along with Rodney, followed by Daniel telling Natalie to stand down as he's got this. Daniel then kneels down and places his hand on the injured rauisuchian's snout managing to tame the beast while Natalie's "parents" watch in disbelief. Daniel then grabs the spear and pulls it out of the large pseudosuchian's flesh, followed by Daniel telling the beast that he's free to go followed by it retreating back into the jungle. Natalie's "father" is amazed by Daniel's gifts, telling him that with a gift like that he should consider becoming a veterinarian. Natalie then tells her "parents" that Daniel sure does have a way with animals. Daniel then tells the three that it's all in a day's work while twirling the spear. after that, we cut to Animal X HQ where we see Helena analyzing the video message from Natalie's "parents" only for her to discover the two flickering, as if they were holograms. Helena then realizes that the two in the video are fakes and that she's got to warn Bill. we then cut back to Daniel and Natalie who are sitting around a campfire with Natalie's "parents" who tell the two stories about all the fun adventures they had during their days as Animal X agents, Natalie captivated by said stories while Daniel still remains skeptical noticing Natalie's "father" reading through the old journal (which explains how the two imposters are able to recall past experiences from Natalie's real parents). Natalie's "father" puts the journal down to ask Daniel to tell them his story, followed by Daniel telling the couple about how he used to be an average joe until one day Natalie showed up to save him from an angry bigfoot and the rest is history. Natalie's "Mother" then tells Daniel that their daughter is lucky to have a man like him, saying she can't wait until the two get married and produce grandchildren for them, causing Daniel and Natalie to both look at each other and blush. Natalie totally embarrassed tells her "mother" that their relationship is nothing like that, telling them that the two of them are just fellow Animal X agents, nothing more nothing less. Natalie's "mother" then tells the two she understands before telling the two they should be getting some shut-eye now. once Daniel and Natalie both go inside the tent and are fast asleep, "Nathan" and "Maria" both drop their holographic disguises revealing them to be none other than Marcus and Nile all along, Nile now sporting a spiffy new cybernetic hand after what happened the last time we saw him all the way back in "a safari of a different kind", Marcus finally glad to be free of his female disguise, Marcus asking Nile why he had to play the role of the father while he got stuck playing the mother leading to Nile making the funny remark that he called dibs on it first. Rodney managed to witness the two dropping their disguises followed by Marcus realizing that the two of them have been spotted followed by Nile whipping out his rifle and firing at Rodney, the little skyfish dodging the shot before zooming back into the tent. Marcus then tells Nile that they need to find somewhere more private to discuss their plan. the two then walk into the nearby jungle where they come across a nest of dinosaur eggs. Marcus then picks up one egg and explains to Nile that upon learning the truth of his father's deceitful nature at the end of "on the track of many fins" he chose to leave the Black Dot behind and abandon the "agent M" moniker (symbolized by the black dot logos on his battle suit being scratched off along with no longer wearing his mask), Marcus explaining that he plans on starting his own criminal empire to rival his father, which he plans on doing by stealing dinosaur eggs and selling them on the black market to fund their future operations. Nile crosses his arms asking Marcus what's in it for him, saying all he wants to do is get paid. Marcus assures Nile that he'll get his money and so much more, saying that his new empire will crush the Black Dot and anyone that stands in their way, Marcus crushing the dinosaur egg in his hands to prove a point. Nile then tells Marcus that he still doesn't understand why they need to disguise themselves as the girl's dead parents in order to pull this egg heist off, followed by Marcus explaining to Nile that the purpose of the disguises is to manipulate the girl and her idiot friend, turning the two into unwitting pawns in their little Easter egg hunt. Marcus then tosses Nile a bag, telling him to gather up the eggs so they can get out of here. Nile then gathers up the eggs in the bag followed by the two hearing the loud cry of an angry mother dinosaur. said angry mother dinosaur turns out to be a Ngoubou, a large centrosaurine ceratopsian armed with a massive nose horn. the horned herbivore then charges at the two, causing Nile to panic and drop the bag causing all the eggs to fall to the ground and crack. this angers the mother dino even more, charging at the two yet again followed by the two leaping out of the way Nile shooting it in the side causing the beast to trip and fall off a nearby cliff to its death. the two then look at each other and agree never to speak of this again before re-activating their holo-disguises. we then cut back to Animal X HQ where Helena shows Bill the discovery she made while analyzing the video, this worries Bill since his fear has been confirmed. we then cut to the next day were we see Natalie's "parents" wake up Daniel and Natalie, the two telling them to rise and shine. Natalie and Daniel both get up out of their sleeping bags followed by Daniel waking up a sleeping Rodney. Natalie asks her "parents" what the heck is going on, followed by "Maria" telling Natalie that they're gonna have to get an early start if they're gonna be collecting dinosaur eggs. Daniel then sarcastically asks if they're gonna eat them for breakfast, followed by "Nathan" telling him that they're collecting dinosaur eggs for research purposes, to determine what species are in the area. "Maria" then explains her plan to Daniel and Natalie, the two will split up into teams of two so that they can cover more ground, one will distract the parent dinosaur while the other gathers the eggs. Daniel will be going with "Nathan" while Natalie will go with "Maria". the two teams then go their separate ways while Rodney decides to follow Daniel. after that, we cut to Domino's airship where we see Domino and Dr. Uno having a hologram meeting with four of the leaders of the international branches of the black dot: one from Japan, one from Nigeria, one from Mexico, and one from Russia. the four leaders inform Domino that his renegade son has been sabotaging the black dot's operations around the world. Domino is frustrated, telling the council that he tried his best to raise the boy to be a loyal soldier of the black dot, however it seems he just didn't discipline him hard enough. the council then tell Domino that Marcus has been seen collaborating with the Kenyan bounty hunter Nile and that they believe that Marcus may be attempting to start his own crime syndicate to rival the black dot. Doctor Uno then interjects, revealing that he hired Nile to keep an eye on Marcus AND he installed a tracking device into Nile's cybernetic hand that HE constructed for him which will lead them directly to Marcus's location. the council then applaud the good doctor for his brilliant plan while Domino places his hand on Uno's shoulder Domino assuring the council that he will make sure the doctor's plan is seen through. once the council end their transmission, Doctor Uno informs Domino that Nile's signal has been traced in the Congo rainforest. the mere mention of the Congo causes Domino to have a flashback to the Congo incident where we see Domino walking away from a burning jungle carrying a crying baby Marcus in his arms, before we cut back to the present day where Domino tells Dr. Uno to prepare his shuttle. we then cut back to the Congo where we see Daniel and "Nathan" walking through the jungle followed by Daniel using his grappling hook to climb up a tree with Rodney following him all the way to the top, "Nathan" asking Daniel what he's doing, followed by Daniel telling him that he's trying to get a better view of the landscape to spot some of the local wildlife, Daniel whipping out a pair of binoculars only for him to see a herd of long-necked sauropod dinosaurs raising their heads above the canopy, Daniel telling "Nathan" that he spotted some dinos which means that there might be a chance they'll find some nests nearby. Daniel then wonders what species these dinos are and opens up the Cryptozoologicon to find out that these long-necked behemoths are known as the Mokele-Mbembe, translated from african pygmy as "he who stops the river" and that they are a member of the family of cretaceous-era sauropod dinosaurs known as the titanosaurs. one curious Mokele-Mbembe then decides to approach the tree Daniel and Rodney are sitting in, Daniel now being only a couple inches away from the gentle giant's face. Rodney gets scared by the creature and hides behind Daniel, followed by Daniel assuring Rodney that he's not going to hurt them because according to the Cryptozoologicon the Mokele-Mbembe are peaceful herbivores that use their massive necks to feed on the tops of the trees. Daniel then grabs a tree branch and reaches out to the sauropod's mouth, Daniel watching in amazement as the dino literally starts eating out of his hand. while the titanic sauropod is distracted, "Nathan" starts collecting the Mokele-Mbembe eggs and putting them in a bag, all the while little Rodney notices "Nathan" flicker for a second. we then cut to Natalie and "Maria" walking through the jungle until they come across a nest of dinosaur eggs, "Maria" telling her to keep a look out for any dinosaurs while she collects the eggs. "Maria" then starts bagging eggs while Natalie scouts ahead, only for her to come across a large theropod dinosaur resembling a tyrannosaur with dark red skin and black stripes running down its back chowing down on a hadrosaur carcass. Natalie tries to stand still, hoping that the beast won't notice her. however it doesn't work, as the tyrannosaur turns its head to stare at Natalie and growl at her. Natalie then contacts Daniel and asks him if the Cryptozoologicon has any info on anything that resembles a big red T. rex, followed by Daniel turning the page of the book to find an entry on the very creature Natalie described: the Kasai Rex, a Congolese descendant of the tyrannosaur lineage and the lost world's top predator. Natalie then slowly backs away from the Kasai rex, followed by the rex turning its head again to notice "Maria" trying to steal her eggs and charges towards her, Natalie grabbing her "mother" by the hand telling her that it's time to go the two trying to outrun the angry mother Kasai rex. we then cut back to Daniel climbing down the tree followed by "Nathan" telling Daniel that he got the eggs. Natalie and "Maria" then arrive on the scene to show the boys that they got their fair share of eggs too. the four then hear a loud roar only for the angry Kasai rex from before to show up and chase after them until they are backed into a corner. Natalie, "Nathan", and "Maria" then notice Daniel's eyes suddenly start to glow icy blue followed by Daniel summoning a Mokele-Mbembe to fight the Kasai rex allowing our heroes to escape, the fight between the two dinos ending with the sauropod smacking the tyrannosaur across the face with its whip tail forcing the carnivore to retreat. we then cut to the surface world where we see a jet with the black dot logo on its wings, followed by Domino exiting the vehicle along with a platoon of black dot grunts and armored land vehicles, Domino telling the boys that it's time to go dinosaur hunting before they all march forward through the waterfall and into the lost world. we then cut back to our heroes who are thankful to be safe, Natalie thanking Daniel for saving their skins back there. Daniel then tells Natalie's "parents" that they've got to return the eggs to their nests, as it would be the right thing to do. "Nathan" however objects, saying that they risked their lives for these eggs and that returning them would mean everything they went through would be all for nothing. "Maria" then places her hand on Natalie's cheek, telling her to listen to her "father". Natalie asks her "mother" if she can trust her, followed by "Maria" telling her of course because mother knows best, followed by Natalie noticing "Maria" start to flicker which makes her suspicious. Bill then contacts both Daniel and Natalie to warn them that those two aren't her real parents, followed by Natalie stepping back and asking her "parents" if they truly are the real deal or not, followed by the two flickering like crazy until their holographic disguises wear off revealing themselves to be Marcus and Nile all along, Daniel less than enthusiastic to see Nile again. Nile then tells Daniel that he still hasn't forgot what he did to his hand, followed by Marcus apologizing to Natalie, telling her that posing as Natalie's dead parents was the only way she and her friend would agree to help them with their plan to steal dinosaur eggs, thanking the two for their contributions before telling them that these dinosaur eggs are going to make them millions on the black market. Natalie then sheds a tear after getting a harsh reality check, realizing that her parents really are dead after all. Daniel then hugs Natalie and tries to comfort her before telling Marcus and Nile that what they did was AWFUL, using someone's dead family members as a means of emotional manipulation followed by telling the two that they should be ashamed of themselves. Nile then whips out a net launcher the ensnares Daniel, Natalie, and Rodney in an electric net and Marcus tells the two that they should best be on their way before trying to escape with the bags of dinosaur eggs, however they are stopped in their tracks by Domino who tells his son Hello ending our episode on yet another cliffhanger.
