10. Better

Kinn POV

A month had passed and Juno was getting therapies. The doctor suggested we go on a trip. So we decided to go on a trip. We were going for one night trip near the beach. We thought the beach would be a perfect healing spot. Along with us three, Tankhun, Kim, Porschay, Vegas, Pete, Arm, Pol, Tay, Time, Macau, Big, Ken, Jom and Tem were also coming. In conclusion all of us were going together.

Porsche was packing our bags and I was just staring at him. It was late at night. Juno was sleeping on the bed while I was on the sofa and Porsche was roaming around to grab things. He packed our things and started packing Juno's clothes and toys. "Do you need my help?" I asked him. "No, just sit there and relax." He replied with a proper sarcasm in his voice. I got up and helped him grab Juno's toys and books.

After were done we both sat on the sofa. Porsche lay down on my legs and stroked his hair. "I really hope she is able to feel better after this trip. She has been getting nightmares for the past month everyday." I tried to comfort him, "She is doing better Porsche. The intensity of those nightmares have also gone down right. Sleeping here did help her. Otherwise her room wouldn't have been empty right now." He nodded and we headed to the bed to sleep.

Last night was quite peaceful. Juno did not wake up but her sweating did not go away. It was a exciting morning. All of us had gathered in the living room. The pile of bags was near the entrance. Some were having their breakfast and others were moving to the cars.

I sat with Tankhun, Juno, Big and Porsche in the car and others were divided accordingly in other cars. We headed to our destination. Having Big driving and Juno and Porsche beside me reminded me of the time when we rescued Juno. I remember holding her tightly because of the speed of the car. She has grown up so much now.

I had dozed off and when I woke up we had arrived to our destination. I saw a sea view villa in front of me. Juno ran inside. We all went inside. I felt so happy seeing Juno so happy and excited after a long time. We all got our rooms and came back down after changing.

The boys rushed out and divided teams for volleyball. All of the partners were separated. Juno was acting the referee and we started playing. I did not realize when it was evening and we set the barbecue up.

Porsche POV

Everyone looked happy and content. That made me happy too. There were smiles on everyone's faces. The teasing and chaotic atmosphere had come back. Coming from a mafia background, it is inevitable that we face such life threatening situation. But it was the first-time that Juno had faced it. Maybe because the child faced such a situation there was a pause in time and everyone had a cautious and gloomy atmosphere. But this trip made everyone come back to track again.

While me and Kinn were sitting on the sand looking at the endless ocean, Juno came and sat in between us. She leaned on Kinn and closed her eyes. "How was your day?" Kinn asked her. She replied, " Nice. Really nice." I smiled and then said, "Good. You know that me and your Poh face a lot of emergency at times. There are times when we have to protect us very well. We work in a dangerous field. This is your Poh's family business. That is your grandfather also did it and his grandfather also did."

Kinn continued for me, "Yes, but that does not mean that you also have to take this job. You can make your own path. But the one thing you have to do is not being afraid of anything. You have to make sure that in future you are able to protect yourself while we protect you too." She was listening quietly and it looked like she was agreeing to everything w were saying. I really hope she is good at protecting herself.

We pecked her forehead. Mine and Kinn's eyes met and our hands too. It was amazing how we did not need anything else but each other's presence to feel better.
