Floating within a deep body of water lies a young girl. Her body still, floating through the ocean between the abyss and the surface. Nothing is there. No animals, with only the waves on the surface distorting the faint light reaching the girl. Below her is nothing but an endless black descent. The girl clad in red and black opens her eyes to see her environment and begins to panic. After a while, she calms down and tries to go toward the surface to gain her bearings. However, she began to descend slowly, growing closer to the abyss. Seeing this the girl hastens her pace to fight this force of nature but to no avail. She attempted to let out a scream only to have the water flood her mouth. The oxygen in her lungs slowly runs out as panic sets in once again, flailing and squirming as her strength was lost to her until she fell unconscious. The child sets further into the abyss as the light slowly begins to fade away more and more until only pitch black remains. In the shadows of the deep ocean, a large indescribable figure slumps over the child letting out a loud and deep roar to the ocean almost as if it was communicating. Only the hundreds of amber-colored eyes were visible, focusing on the poor child. The creature once again let out a deep bellowing roar as it retreated back into the ocean's shadows to hide again.

The young girl's eyes shoot open gasping for air as she soon relaxes realizing it had all been but a dream. Deep in thought regarding the dream, the girl was startled when a smaller boy suddenly opened the door to her room. His stature seemed unsure if he should've done such a thing as he even looked nervous going into the girls room. His height was also on par or perhaps even shorter than the girl as he adorned a famers garb. "Hey Ruby. Weiss wanted me to check up on you when she heard she yelp or something when she was making breakfast." the boy said as Ruby soon calmed down and replied "Hey Oscar. Tell Weiss i'm fine just got a bit spooked from a dream." The boy looked like he wanted to say something but held back and only nodded to relay the girls message "And Oscar" the boy looked back "Don't forget to knock on a girls door next time." Ruby teased as Oscar only nodded in embarrassment. With the door closed, Ruby soon got ready wearing her usual outfit. Leaving her room she soon made her way down stairs and after greeting everyone they all soon sat down for breakfast. Well, most of them as someone was blacked out on the couch and another had never really been much of a morning person. The usual chatter and remarks circulated around the table with Ruby and Oscar really only being the quiet ones. Ruby's sister, Yang, came to the table and hadn't been to concerned about her appearance with her long and bright yellow hair being a clear mess and her clothes as well wrinkled from her constant tossing and turning that Ruby knew happened. It was after all an average morning. Ruby, however, was still thinking about her dream and was deep in thought wondering what it meant or if it even had any meaning to begin with as most of it was a haze. Her teammate, Blake Belladonna, had noticed something up with the leader and wanted to say something but not in front of the entire group. As everyone chatted and discussed with regards on what to do for the day, Ruby, eventually set aside her strange dream and joined in with the group and the day proceeded as normal minus Ruby having the occasional itch or rather, a desire, to go out and look for something. She wasn't certain what had led to her this but she just pushed it to the back of her head.

Around the evening as the sun set Ruby had eventually split from the group and went down to the harbor with boats and little to no Atlas guards blocking the way. There she sat on the dock swinging her legs like a child as the smell of the saltwater and fish flooded her nose. She thought back to what led her here. From the days of being a student at beacon, the train derailment at mount Glenn, the fall of beacon, and so much more weighed on the shoulders on this child and yet she somehow managed to go foward through the days. To Ruby she felt at peace as if the burdens and memories somehow faded away at this harbor. And there she sat for hours biding her time and enjoying what little peace and quiet she managed to get. That is until she had been interrupted as her sister would often start to worry about her and not wanting to cause any drama she headed back to the house. "Ruby~" the girl stopped dead in her tracks freezing up upon hearing the voice of her long deceased mother. She turned around scared and frightened at what possibly could have managed to imitate her mothers voice so perfectly. Could it have been a nightmare that somehow managed to get into her mind or had she merely heard the voice as a result of the stress on her shoulders. She found nothing as she looked around with only an ocean breeze and the dim street lights turning on. She relaxed ever so slightly and made it apparent to get home and leave this ordeal behind.
