Chapter 3 - Secret

      The next day, I woke up when suddenly, someone tap my shoulder.
I saw Emma worriedly staring at me. "What are you doing here all alone??"
I stood up and threw the dirt away from my clothes. I feel so dizzy...
"I have no other choice. My parents got mad at me and didn't let me stay at our house." I cough and sniffs. "Are you crazy?? You slept here?? Look at you! You're sick. You could've ask me, so I can let you stay in my house. Besides, my sister works in another town, so I'm all alone. I would love to if you stay with me last night." I once again cough, so I decided to cover my mouth. I sighs. "I'm sorry, I was about to do that, but-" My words are cut short because my vision became blurry. "Kathy? Are you okay?" Her words are echoing and I suddenly fell down and loses consciousness.

      I woke up in a clean bed and saw Emma putting a towel on a hot water. "Oh! You're awake. How are you feeling?" I smile and breathe deeply. "I'm feeling okay. Thank you." She put the hot and wet towel in my forehead and sit besides me. "You had a fever. It rained last night, so maybe you got wet. I really wish you could've told me about what happened to you." I hug her tightly. "I'm scared... There's a creepy guy at the alley who wanted to do something bad to me last night." She tap my back repeatedly and gently. "You should be careful next time, okay? I'm just here if you need me." I pushed away and she immediately stood up. She grabs a box of cake on the table. "It's my birthday today. I will put this cake in the fridge, so that we can celebrate my birthday after school. Take a rest and I'll be back, okay?"
I nodded.

      In the afternoon, I decided to tell her my secret of being a witch while celebrating her birthday. She accepted me and was amazed knowing that I can do magic. "What happened to your mother?" I looked down sadly. "She was killed by my stepsister..." Emma was shocked and felt anger inside her. "How dare she?! She could've the one who died for being an evil witch who don't have mercy!" I just nodded because she's right, not because I wanted Lily to die. Even though she's evil, she still deserve to live. "I have a mission that I need to accomplish and I need to stop what Lily was doing. Emma... are you willing to help me?"
She answered, "Yes, of course."

Lena's Pov

      I was minding my own business when Lily approached me and slam the table. "Y-Your highness?!" She clenched her fists. "Where is Kathy?! Why she isn't here?! She should be working by now!" I immediately bow down and apologized. "She may be somewhere around. She'll be here soon, don't worry." She once again slam the table hardly and everyone looks at us. I was scared... She grabs my neck and squeezed it that I couldn't even breathe properly. "Tell me the truth!! Where did she go?!! You're her bestfriend, you could've know everything about her!!"
I cried. "I-I don't know, your highness... Please, I beg you. I don't wanna die..." She released me and pushed me away. I fell down on the floor and wipe my tears away. "Just make sure you're not lying because if I know that you are... I will tear you apart and bury your body where no one can see it!" I quickly nodded. "Y-Yes, your highness..." She helps me get up and heal my neck. "I'm kind when someone is kind too... Do you understand?!" I once again nodded. "Now, get back to work! Everyone!"

Kathy's Pov

      Emma leans down and tried to look at what I am reading. "What are you reading?" I glanced at her. "I'm memorizing the spells on how to do it properly." She seems excited and expecting something. "Can you teach me?" I smile and giggled. "Sure thing!"
