Kathy's POV

What should I do...? Maybe I should just accept that I will never be free from this darkness... I will never be able to save the slaves who suffer in our world... I will never see the beautiful smiles on their faces... And I will never keep my promise to my mother. What a failure I am! If I don't give up, I'll die for what Lily will do right now. I don't know what to do... I'm getting weak... Mother... Help me... I felt a touch on my shoulder and once again, I heard my mother's beautiful and angelic voice. I was shocked and couldn't believe it is really happening. I can't even see her, but I know she's just next to me. She whispered to me,

"Be strong, my daughter. I'm just here to protect you. Don't forget that you are special to me. You are my one and only princess and loving child. I am thankful that you came and lived in this world. I know you can do it, Kathy. Please... bring her back." I cried when I heard my mother again. I wanted to hug her, but I couldn't. Not only because of that reason, but I couldn't stop my dripping tears because I couldn't even be with her for just one day. Her loving and gentle voice was gone and I would never hear it again... "Thank you, Mother. I love you..."

I smiled and just thought that my mother would be by my side forever and she would never leave me. My anger returned and I looked deadly at Lily. I couldn't control myself and all of a sudden, I just used the strength my mother had given me to Lily. She was hit on the left side of her chest. She fell and couldn't stand. I felt sorry for Lily... From the look on her face, I could clearly see that she was badly hurt. I don't want to do all this, but I needed to... "Lily... I-I didn't mea-"
I tried to approach her, but she pushed me away. She coughed and had difficulty of breathing. Lena pulled my arm away to avoid Lily. I faced her and frowned.

"Don't take it for granted, Kathy! She's not what you think who's very kind and very loving princess and sister."
I don't want to fight with my best friend. This is just the first time she's been mad at me... What's her problem with Lily? Yes, I know she was abused a lot, but... what was her reason for revenge? My mother died and I was punished every day, but I did not retaliate against my half-sister. "Surrender is a word of being defeated. " I shook my head and turned away. I approached Lily and held out my hand. She looked at me curiously. "Don't!" Lena yelled. She ran towards me while, Lily could do nothing, but hold my hand. When I tried to help her stand up, the surroundings changed.

The place is full of white color. Quiet and and no one else is around... I saw Lily in front of me. Why did she look so young? She looked at me like an innocent child. I wonder why she is only as small as me. I noticed my hands was also small and I was surprised. I went back to being the old me... "Why are we here?" I asked when Lily suddenly covered my mouth. "Don't be noisy. Father might hear us." She looked behind her to make sure if father was just close to us. The surroundings changed again and I noticed I was in Lily's room. The two of us were close to the closet and I just held my breath, so that neither father could hear us.

Lily was surprised when she didn't expect father to open the door. She immediately took me inside the closet and before she close it, she said, "Don't make any noise." She closed the closet door and pretended to be reading a book on her bed. I saw through the small gap of the closet door that father entered the room and approached Lily. "Lily, why are you still awake?" Lily pretended that she didn't hear what father had said and just straightened her hair and placed it on the side of her ear. Father just ignored what Lily did and sat down next to her. "What are you reading, my wonderful daughter?"

I was jealous to hear my father call Lily like that, but... I just put up with it because I knew... he would never see me as his own child. "I'm reading about magic. I want to be like you and mother one day because..." She gulped and stopped for a moment. "Because they always laugh at me and underestimate me just because I'm ordinary." When father saw that Lily was sad, he felt the same way, but to make her happy, father just smiled.
"You know... when I was young, I used to wish something from a shooting star. Whenever I ask... it gives it to me right away, and that's why I have this kind of power."

I wonder why father said that to Lily. I thought that you already have instant power, but in order for that to be used in something or someone, you need to study in the school of witches where you will practice your skills, but your teacher will guide you. I thought to myself... it looks like father was lying to get Lily's attention and, so that they will get along well...
