"I gotta admit, Daniel. I kind of envy you for having such great friends," I told him. We were walking down the elegant staircase, with beautiful wine red layered carpet flooring all the way down and an old oak wooden railing while the sun was shining through windows, giving the surroundings extra life.

Daniel paused and turned to me, "I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm sorry that I didn't mention they were here last night. I totally forgot—"

I giggled, "It's cool. As I said, I enjoyed hanging out with them. And you," I gave him a smile as I passed him, continuing down another floor. "Even Carter and Henry pouting over everything."

He laughed, "They are really cool and the youngest ones out of us all."

"How did you meet them?"

We reached the last floor which was decorated with marble flooring. We entered the reception — a big square-shaped room with a long lobby counter on the left side and chairs on the other. We continued on through the majestic double doors and out on the open streets as Daniel explained how he met his best friends.

He explained how he and Michael has known each other's since they were born, as they were neighbors and their families were really close. He, Andrew, and Hudson med at primary school, and later on got to know Carter and Henry who were friends with Hudson.

He explained how he went to this small school back in Perth in Australia, where he came from, and mostly all of the kids knew each other, regardless of their age. I thought to myself how weird it must feel to know every single soul around me. It was hard to imagine...

Carter and Henry were only two years younger than the others. Later on, Ethan and his family moved to their neighborhood and joined the friend group. And ever since, sometime around fifth grade, they've all got to know each other's and ended up being friends for life.

"What's the most memorable moment you have with them?"

He smiled and I could see he was reminiscing, "Easy. We went on a two-week backpacking trip on the french riviera," he answered proudly.

"I've never went backpacking, but I've always wanted to."

He hummed, "Then you have something to look forward to."

"Tell me, though. What did you do in those two weeks?" I curiously asked him.

"Well... We filled the days with mountain biking, kayak rides, snorkeling, and a lot og surfing. And a lot of good food." His whole face was so lit up and captivated thinking his memories. "Oh! We even went to a vineyard."

I felt his happiness spreading over on me hearing about all of his good memories with these guys. They must really have a special friendship.

We entered the metro, taking two seats beside each other. Just as it was on que, Daniel's phone went. I leaned in over his shoulder to see his screen lit up with a new message from Carter. He opened it and I felt his eyes flicked a little too long at me to make sure I was seeing too.
