Chapter 2

As soon as Renea plopped herself in the seat next to mine with a look of pure curiosity I knew, I would have to wait a while to get a word in”Sara”, Renea said, looking at me like I had done something that would nip  me in the bud later, “What”?. I said in a solemn voice that I tried to hide with fake interest.

“What”, she said looking at me with a small hint of a grimace. She said looking at me with a small hint of a grimace. She huffed and looked at me grabbing my soulders,”what are you doing here”? She asked then paused realizing that that was a dumb question.” What I mean is prom is in a few months, and…” Renea paused seeing through the cracks of my facade. “Hey” she said trying to make me feel better. It did not work. “What is the matter?” she asked in a sweet voice that always made you feel warm and fuzzy about telling her all of what’s on your mind.

“I’m moving” I blurted hoping she would say that it was ok and that we would just have to email, or video chat each other, each and every day. However, of course she looked at me tears starting at her eyes, and said “What”? Making me repeat the horrible words again.

“I am moving”, I said slower this time, making sire se got every word so I would not have to repeat those words again. “If this is a joke Sara….. (sniffle) stop it because, it is not some thing to kid about,” she said warily. “I am not joking” I said, “You can come over today and see for yourself, I am sure the moving truck is still their.”

“Moving truck”, she gasped a tear that had been at the corner of her eye finally trickled freely down the side of her face.” How soon are you exactly moving: she said, I sighed “Soon” I finally said. Renea started to cry now, tears running down her cheeks like a water fountain, “Oh come on Renea don’t be like that, we can still email, and video chat.” “It won’t be the same,” she said in between quiet sobs she was trying to hide.

“Wait “. She said staring at me with the last gleam of hope in her eyes. “How far away are you moving maybe I can drive….”. “No”, I said destroying the gleam of hope in her eyes. “I am moving to Transylvania”, I said feeling horrible.

“Transylvania”? she said, then realizing she made a fool of her self with the water show (which I thought was sweet) she tried to make light of it” What are you going to devote your life to finding vampires”?

“No”, I said flashing a weak smile still sad about the move. “My mom has decided to get a job over there at a meuseam.”But”she said, “Your mom doesn’t know anything about the history of Transylvania.” “No “ I said, “But she knows a lot about vampires, and werewolves, and their legends.” “What are you talking about”? She said confused. I took a deep breath and closed my book knowing I would have to explain this a long time before she would accept it.

After a long talk with Renea telling her every thing that has happened coincidently forgetting about the girl by the soccer field. Finally I was able to leave after promising Renea 100(and trust me I counted) times that I will email and talk on the phone all the time. For some reason it seemed to skip her mind that I was going to see her on Monday…. Wait I hope I do any way.
