Like always, the air was humid and the sun was bright.

The vending machine rumbled as it dispensed 2 orange-flavored sodas. The young boy groaned as he picked the sodas up and pressed them against his neck, using their coldness to cool down.
He turned around and walked towards the that stood behind him, opening them and entering the even warmer gymnasium.

Immediately, he came face to face with a girl taller than him, wearing a sleeveless top and shorts that stopped just above her knee, a damp towel around her neck. She smiled down at him, taking a soda from his hand and opening it.

"What are you doing?! That's mine!" The boy shouted, earning the attention of the people in the gymnasium, making him turn red as he grabbed the arm of the person in front of him and led her behind the bleachers.
"You didn't get one for me? I'm devastated!" The girl leaned into him, now grinning.
"Can you please quiet down?"
"Not until you say please." She crossed her arms.
He rolled his eyes, "Please, oh, please Julien, I'm begging you, shut up." he uttered sarcastically.

She ran her hand through his curly, black hair and chuckled. He gasped and stepped back in surprise, coming to contact with a wall.

"Why so surprised?" She laughed.
"D-don't do that! It's weird." He stuttered, now moving closer to her as he started to calm down.
"Anyway, I can have this right?" She started drinking before he could even say anything. He sighed and nodded, walking out from behind the bleachers, with the girl walking right behind him.

"Hey, where are you going?" She asked, still sticking close by him.
"I'm heading home." He mumbled, voice barely heard.
"Hey, hey! Why are you mad? Are you mad?" She continued to follow him as he left the gymnasium and headed to his classroom.
"No, I'm not mad." He grumbled.

He lifted his bag off his table and decided to just stand there for a moment, polluting the air with a suffocating silence.

"You're mad, aren't you? Just tell me why you're so mad!" She broke the silence.
"It's fine, ok?! Just leave me alone."
"Theo...look, I'm sorry, ok?" She grabbed his shoulders, making him turn to face her.
"Am I forgiven?" She moved closer to him. He sighed, a small smile on his face.
"...Fine. You're forgiven." She smiled and hugged him.

Soon they approached the school doors and said their goodbyes. She waved at him as he walked further and further away from the school.
