Bucky Barnes and Female Reader

Bucky knew he couldn't get to her on his own- he didn't know the security code, he couldn't remember the exact location, he didn't know how guarded the place was or if the land around it was rigged. That's why he's so relieved to have Steve and Tony here with him- Steve for friendly comfort (even if he was oblivious to the real reason Bucky jumped at the chance to come here with him) and Tony for the tech stuff.

Bucky wished on the stars that you were still here, he had escaped this place after a mission and had never come back- he was waiting for Steve so he wouldn't be alone and have a better chance of saving you.

He just hoped you would understand why he hadn't come back right away...

"We got heat signatures." Tony's, surprisingly calm and monotonous, voice echoed throughout the abandoned Hydra base- a familiar and heart-wrenching site that Bucky had seen one too many times. During his time at Hydra, he wished he didn't come back after missions, he wished to escape the organisation and rid himself of The Winter Soldier. But he couldn't leave you- the one thing that kept his poisoned heart beating.

"How many?" Steve called out moments later- he wanted to know how big of a fight this was going to be. He might have to stretch, he was getting old afterall.

"Uhhhh..." Tony's equipment was being slow- the walls of the building were thick and the entire structure was buried deep under Siberian soil. "Two."

Startling the Avengers (and Bucky), the Sokovian accent streamed into the room over the speakers. The soldiers stood ready alert, ready to take on any threat about to come their way.

"If it's any comfort, they died in their sleep..." Loud and smug, Zemo stood behind the glass peephole of the chamber, watching the three men stalk around the room like mice in a cage. Bucky wandered up to one of the chambers cautiously, it held one of the Winter Soldiers he had been forced to fight during training. This one was strong and had amazing agility, but now he had a bullet lodged in his pectoral.

"...or at least most of them did."

Bucky heard fast footsteps approaching from behind him and with a loud cry the person jumped to hook their legs around his neck and pull him to the floor- but they did not succeed. Bucky was strong and had felt this grip on his body before, he had helped the body perfect it.

The only thing running through your programmed brain was your orders- the soldier who had awoken you from your ice-induced slumber had told you to hide and then attack the intruders on his signal. So that's exactly what you did.

There were three of them: one was dressed in a ridiculously tight America-themed outfit with a round matching shield, one was in a full suit of some sort of metal (he would be hard to overpower) and the final one was wearing black combat boots, trousers and jacket with his metal arm on show and an impressive gun sitting in his grasp. Interesting, a metal arm...

Instincts kicking in, you ran forward and hooked your legs around the closest threat's neck (he was the one with the metal arm). You expected the man to fall to the floor but he didn't, he was definitely trained and powerful.

You started hammering on his head as he gripped your waist. You thought his hands would grab you with strength and intention to cause pain, but it was comforting and somewhat familiar- like you had felt this man's presence before. A metal arm...

Twisting out of his arms, you landed on the floor softly, then planted your foot on his wide chest, sending him to the ground and onto his back. The other two came running towards you and you blocked the blows coming from the american guy's fast arms, until he landed a good hit on you and your face spun to the side from the force of his blow.
