"Girl, you were like My Super Ex-Girlfriend, but better. Not only you fought beside him, but you also defeated the father of your crush's crush." Michelle paused. "This is so confusing," She frowned as she noticed how much the situation was messed up.

"Tony was pretty proud," Gwen snickered. "He said, and I quote, 'Fighting the father of your crush's girlfriend is the best way to start a relationship'."

MJ snorted. "This is wrong on so many levels."

"I told you he was very shitty at relationship advice."

"Even I realize it doesn't sound right," the brunette pursed her lips.

They both stopped in the middle of the hallway as they spotted Peter talking to Liz at the end of the corridor. Knowing that the Decathlon team captain was moving away with her mother didn't make her feel any better about the whole situation. Gwen knew how it felt like to having a shitty parent.

"Hey, Gwen!" Ned greeted excitedly. "Good job at the--" He interrupted himself as he realized Michelle was with her. "At the thing that Peter asked your help with," he finished lamely.

Michelle rolled her eyes.

"No problem," Gwen smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.

The conversation wasn't long, but every time Gwen saw Peter she had that longing feeling in her chest. She missed teasing him and calling him 'darling' or something else, his flushed cheeks and sputter.

In the academic decathlon meeting, MJ asked Gwen to attend it with her since she's been doing it since the beginning. Gwen, however, had received a message from Tony, telling her to go to the New Avengers Facility to show her something. So, she told her friend to keep her posted on any news.

"I know you'll be the new captain," the blonde assured.

MJ rolled her eyes but smiled gratefully at the support.

"There she is! My fantastic Sweetpea!" Tony greeted with open arms, hugging her close to him after a good day at work. "I'm so proud of what you did, going save Spider-Man even after he broke your heart. That's very good, a very important step for your relationship."

"There's no relationship," Gwen deadpanned.

"Yet!" Tony stated cheerfully.

"Why did you call me here? Why are you excited? Are you finally proposing to Roxy? Is that what you wanted me to see? Cause I've been waiting for this moment since the first day I met you-"

"I'm not proposing," he interrupted her, though the idea wasn't unappealing. "Come with me. They must be here already."

"Who?" She frowned as Tony took her through the corridors to an open room with big windows. Standing there was Happy and Peter, who looked completely awestrucked.
