FIVE HOURS AFTER NOSTOS DISAPPEARED

"And we're live in three, two–"
In the newsroom, Anna Kim straightens up and takes a deep breath before turning her eyes to the teleprompter, "Wake Up, Manberg! It is two minutes after six. We begin this broadcast with breaking news." A breath. "The hero Nostos has been reported missing by the L'Manberg sector of the Manberg Department of Defense. Reports say that he was on his regular patrol when his communicator link was broken, his tracker going offline minutes after one in the morning. The L'Manberg commissioner of the DED, Commissioner Jordan has launched a full-scale investigation into Nostos's dissapeareance and shared more details in a statement put out earlier today. He says, quote, 'The disappearance of Nostos is a surprise and has been felt by every person working in the L'Manberg Sector of the Department of Defense, and of course, all of our citizens. I will promise full transparency with this investigation as Nostos was not only an asset to us, but a hero to the public' end quote.
"Along with his statement, Commissioner Jordan will hold a press conference every six hours and provide hourly updates as they come." Anna pauses for a breath, ignoring the studio light beating down on her and the man beside her staring intently, but respectfully at her. Who thought she was the best equipped to share this kind of news? Sure, it was her literal job as a broadcaster, but if it came down to it, she'd rather not be the one to be the bearer of bad news. She wouldn't even know how to react. Nostos was revered by the residents of L'Manberg, he was a witty hero that would always stop to catch up if he had the time. Oh and the whole part where he saved Anna's wife from a terrorist attack a few years back.

"Good Morning, Anna." John Klein is a stout man, brown hair thinning and giving way to white strands. He's in an orderly home office, the bookshelf behind him boasting tomes about enhancements, foreign relations and histories.
