Carlos pov

It's been 6 months since I came to auradon and chose to be good along with my friends

Once we defeated maleficent and fairy godmother made sure that the barrier stayed up  I had completely put the isle knowing my mother wasn't going to come for me

I joined the fencing team along with Jay and it was pretty fun I wasn't very good like Jay but I was good enough to stay on the team

All right, boys. Let's line it up. Carlos, you're with me. Let's go. Jay said as we began fencing practice

All right, guys. Practice is over. Let's go. Jay said

I had gathered my things and was about to leave when I saw Jane

I had Started developing a crush on Jane when I first saw her come into goodness class. And when I danced with her at the coronation it grew into me actually falling in love with her.

I wanted to ask her to be my date to Cotillion and to be my girlfriend maybe this is my chances to ask her

Jane! Jane, hey. Hey. I said catching her attention

Hey Carlos what's up Jane said

Uh nothing much. You? I said

Way too much. We were gonna go with the blue and gold banners for Cotillion, but now we can't find the right shade of blue. Jane said

Oh, yeah, no, that's a-- that's a bummer. Um, speaking of Cotillion-- I said trying to keep myself from backing out

I know, right? It's all anybody is talking about. Cotillion 24/7. It's like they've never been to one before. Jane said

Uh...I haven't, actually. I said

Oh. Lucky. I always end up serving punch with my mom anyway. This year, I got stuck on the decorating committee because Audrey went off to a spa vacation with Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Jane said

The courage to ask her was slipping quickly

Jane, maybe we should just-- I said as she cut me off

Skip the whole thing? I really, really wish I could. It's so nice to have a friend who's on the same wavelength. Jane said as the last bit of courage I had went out the window

I got to go. Great practice, though. Jane said as she continued with her conversation on the phone

I turned around and saw dude looking at me

It wasn't the right time, all right? I said as I walked back my mine and jays room

After I got changed out of my uniform and in to my everyday clothes I got settled on to my bed with my laptop with dude sitting next to me

"How to get out of the friend zone." I typed into the search box after I turned on the TV for background noise

I see you reading over my shoulder. I said as I noticed dude looking at the computer screen

Suddenly Mal came hyperventilating

Whoa. Easy, girl. I said as she gave me a look like I was insane for say such a Thing

What? You think this is so easy?! You don't have people taking a photo of you every single time you open your mouth to say boo! I mean, it's not that I could even say, "Boo," but, you know what I-- Mal said

Carlos, don't you ever miss screaming at people and just making them run away from you? Mal asked as I quickly shook my head

You're thinking of my mother, and I was usually on the other end of that. So, not really. No. I said as I suddenly remember why Mal had came by

Oh, hey! Did you bring it? I asked as Chad walked in

Hi. Just came to use your 3D printer. Won't be a sec. Chad said as me and Mal looked at him

How'd you get a key to my room? I asked

Oh, I printed it off last time I was in here. Uh... you guys were sleeping. Look, I just-- Your printer's so much better than mine, and you install these hacks and everything runs so much smoother than mine and-- Chad said as I shook my head and pointed to the door

Get out now! I said

Fine. Fine. Chad said turning to leave

Chad! I said as he turned and looked at me

Leave the key I said as he left the key on the table and left closing the door behind him

Mal? I said

Hmm? She said

My potion? I asked

Hmm. Yeah. Um... Mal said holding it out

So, this thing will make me say what I really feel to Jane? I asked

Yeah. I mean, this is a truth gummy, so take it or leave it. Mal said

Perfect I said as I went to take it but Mal stopped me

You sure about this? I mean aren't u and quintessa still technically together Mal said

Shit I had completely forgotten about her I mean I knew she existed but I just figured since I was in auradon and she was on the isle we wouldn't never be together again. So I've decided to move on i said as Mal nodded

Okay. Ohh! Bad dog! Mal said as dude at the truth gummy

Man, that thing was nasty! And you-- you just got to man up. And while you're at it, scratch my butt. Dude said as me and Mal looked at him utterly shocked

You heard him. Scratch his butt. Mal said as she turned to leave

Mal. You're just gonna leave me with him? I asked as she simply nodded and left leaving me with a talking dog

Come on. You scratch your own all the time. Dude said as I sighed
