As the morning passed on into the Afternoon, The Buvelle family made plans for expanding the roster of musicians. Mr. Buvelle would be handling it for the most part, but it was ultimately Sona that would decide who would earn the privilege to work alongside her. Admittedly, Sona didn't care too much for it. At least for the moment. She loved music and she loved helping people, but she had been so busy lately that she had little time to herself. She deserved a much needed break. Normally, her breaks were the same. She would spend almost all day in the backyard garden. The servants actually went out of their way to design a spot specifically for her.
The garden was quite large, though not as big as the mansion. It had a beautiful selection of flowers that all came together to form their family crest. The Lion with the head of an Owl or what the species is known as the Seekers. Sona's special spot would be all the way in the back and off to the right side of the head. There was a hammock between two trees and a fountain a few feet away. The constant running of the water gave some noise for Sona to listen to while she rests. She would take naps here but sometimes she'd just sit there and think to herself. The noises would actually help her get ideas on what music she would try next.
While her mind ran amok, her eyes were glued to the birds nest in one of the tree branches. The eggs had hatched a while ago and the couple birds would occasionally bring food back to the hatchlings. Of course, the pair would take turns keeping their young warm. Her mind began to join with her eyes as she continued to watch. The wind blew, the hammock swayed and the water flowed. She knew what she wanted to make next. She leans up and reaches into the bag just below her to pull out a notebook and pencil. As she wrote down the lyrics, she hummed to herself and got an idea of what instruments she should use.
She smiled brightly and slowly nodded her head as the song came to her.
Heartbeats fast
Colors and Promises
How to be Brave
How can I love when
I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand aloneShe looked up to the birds with that same smile. Both parents were present and keeping their children fed and warm.
I have loved you for a Thousand Years
I love you for a Thousand MoreAs she continued to write, her smile began to fade. There was something missing. She didn't know what though. She knew she would need to find a voice to sing her song. They would be heading to the theater tomorrow and evaluate the participates. Obviously, Sona was hoping she could find the voice she would need. That wasn't what she was missing though. Her mother calls out to her, telling her it was time to head to the theater. They would need to put the participation papers out and get the place ready today. Sona stuffs her notebook and pencil back into her bag and runs along.
Meanwhile, Y/N was at the base of his house and watched the people go about their business. Couples sitting or walking together, people jogging down the paths and children playing with one another. Y/N watched as an elderly lady sprinkled some seeds on the ground for the pigeons to partake of. Everyone knew who lived in the park and knew what he could do. In fact, just about everyone there was waiting for him. He was just too busy taking in the fresh air. It was a warm day with a cool breeze. The Squirrel boy sways his head from left to right, humming one of his favorite songs, Good Time by Owl City, featuring Carly Rae Jepsen.
Too him, it really is always a good time.
He then untangled his arms and lifted himself up. The people took notice and began to gather around his house. Not seeing this, Y/N casually crawls up his tree and into the house to pull out his acoustic guitar. Still more focused on the song in his head, Y/N crawls out onto one of the branches that would support his weight and began to play his acoustic version of Good Time. Like many times before, Y/N had a small crowd gathered around his tree. Since his eyes were closed, he didn't see any of them. A group of girls giggled like they were in high school looking at a cute boy. One pulled her phone out and began to record him playing the song.
It wasn't just people who were interested in hearing him play, some of the local wildlife decided to chime in. Mostly squirrels. Y/N was often joked as being Demacia's Squirrel King. Though it was a joke, one could say it's a literal statement as well. Y/N regularly took care of the squirrels in the park, as well as the park itself. Keeping it clean of any trash and helping out with keeping the grass from overgrowing. These things actually get him rewarded regularly and was jobbed as park caretaker. That was his job. Music was his passion.
When Y/N finished the song, he let out a sigh of relief. When he opened his eyes, he saw the large group of people staring up at him. His hair, tail and ears stood all the way up and his eyes went wide. In but mere seconds, Y/N dived through his window and closed it shut. Some people laugh at the sudden reaction, some cooed and others shrugged their shoulder with a chuckle. Y/N watches from the corner as they began to scatter and leave his home. He turns around and curls back up into a ball, his tail and guitar in arms. His face was horribly red.
While he was humanoid, he was still very much a squirrel at heart. Or as humans would put it, introverted. Steam was coming out of his ears like a furnace. This happens so often yet he falls into it each and every time. It was a habit he'd never conquer. There was then a knock at his window above him. He slowly uncurls himself and sets his acoustic guitar to the side. When he peaked up, it was just a pair of squirrels with nuts in their little claws. Y/N almost immediately changed his act. Remember, still a squirrel. He opens it up slightly and sticks his hand out for the squirrels to place them in his palm.
They only existed in the house for a second before Y/N scarfed them down. A little something to take his mind off his situation. Now a little better, he picks up his acoustic and places it right back where it belong, in his bedroom closet with a few other instruments. Deciding that he had enough of the outdoors, he powers up his dinosaur of a PC and begins to play some games on there. Anything to keep his mind of his embarrassing situation.
As the Buvelle family rode to the theater in their limousine, Sona was scrolling through her news feed. Noxus had recently changed a lot of their laws and such under their new leader and talks of a treaty between Demacia and Noxus were starting to spread. Soon, Sona would be able to perform in another city. What got her attention though was a video that was posted just a few minutes ago. It was titled 'Squirrel King Acoustic Good Time'. Sona had heard about this Squirrel King but she's never seen or heard any of what he could do. Deciding to listen to it, her pops her ear pods in and plays the video.
It was really good. She could tell he had talent, but he would need more practice. When her mother asked what she was listening to, she showed her the video. Mrs. Buvelle wasn't surprised as she heard him before. Her mother makes the comment that the two really get into music when they are outside.
That made Sona smile.
