The Meeting of That Pisspot

Cassie's alarm went off, she got ready, and headed out the door for school. She walked past the security and she saw Freddy with some other guy with brown hair.
"Hey Freddy, who's this?" she asked. "This is Billy Baston, he's going to be fostering with me from now on." he said.
"Hi, I'm Cassandra" She spoke but he didn't reply.
"What are you deaf?" she asked then the bell rang, "Listen, I got to go but I'll pray for your ears" Cassie said.
Darla came up to him and hugged him, "Have a good first day, big brother!"
"Hey, you don't have to keep saying that. We're not actually brother and sister."
Wait, how many siblings does he have? He said.
"Oh ok" she said sadly and walked off.

What a dick she thought.
"No, I didn't mean to-" then Freddy put his hand on Darla, and Cassie shot Billy a look. She liked how caring Freddy was of his little sister.

She comforted Darla,
" He's probably just getting used to being here, soon enough he'll love you."
Cassie and Freddy came up to her classroom door.
"Can you give me some knuckles?" Cassie held out her fist. They both hit each other's knuckles gently.

Then Darla said, "I like your girlfriend, Freddy."
Then walked off before she could correct her on the fact.
She went to look at Freddy but quickly looked away because she felt her face getting hot.

They both walked in silence and then what felt like an eternity,"What did she mean that she was your sister...I don't mean to be rude."
Freddy rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, "I-I'm in a group home." He said hoping that didn't make him sound uncool.
""Oh ok, well I'll see you at lunch" she said.
"Oh o-ok, Bye,Cassie!" He said, waving his hand, she was already turned around and going a different direction. He felt like an idiot with his hand still in the air, he scratched the back of his head and walked off.
Cassie as sat in class, she wasn't paying attention, she was thinking of Freddy.
Do I really have a crush on him? No, it had only been a day and a half , I may be a little crazy but I'm not that delusional. Cassie thought.

Lunch arrived and she went to pack her things up. She was a little late, then she saw Billy and Freddy and sat by them.

"Hey, guys." Freddy greeted her but Billly did not, he just looked at her, then looked away.

"Flight or invisibility, everyone always chooses flight you know why?" Freddy said.
"So they can fly away from this conversation." Billy said.

She really did not like this guy.
"Are you going to keep being a dickhead?" she said.
"Well, I took that very personally."
Billy said.
"It was aimed personally."
She said as he got up and walk away, Freddy followed him. She just sat there she was tired of conversating with Billy .

Once Billy had stormed into the restroom, Freddy came back over to the table.
"So how did it go?" Cassie asked.
"Shut up, fan girl." He said sarcastically.
"If I had a superpower, I would choose mind control" she said.
Cassie wanted to make sure he knew that his conversation ment something to her and she cared, as a friend of course.

"What would you pick?" She asked.
"Probably...flight". He said, then looked at her, and back to the table, he felt himself blushing a bit. Did she really care about what I had to say ?
