Percy Jackson and the Incarnate-3: The Spy Predicament

CHAPTER 17 POV: Justin Riverside

Twelve Minutes! Those were the longest twelve minutes of my life. What if something goes wrong. What if this was just a dream and I am still spying for Tartarus? Tartarus was killed. But Nyx, Erebus, Gaea, Ouranos and Hydros escaped. One Primordial was too hot to handle. But with five primordials on the loose, it was too much to handle.

I looked at mom. She looked at peace. She slept with peace. Nico was next to her, taking care of her. But our hearts were heavy. First Damasen, now Bob. They really needed help from Tyche.

The twelve minutes ended with a ding. I jumped at the sound. Outside stood four skeletons on top of one another pressing the button. Behind them was Lord Hades himself. He looked relieved on seeing Nico and me.

"Nico! I was worried. Justin Riverside. Hope the quest was successful.", He asked. I nodded and carried my mom towards him. She was sleeping peacefully.

"Go see Dionysus. If he refuses to help, tell me and your dad. We will help.", Hades smirked and I nodded. Nico looked all but miserable.

"Nico? Where is Bob? Percy? Annabeth?", Hades asked with concern.

"Bob... sacrificed himself again. Percy and Annabeth are in safe hands.", Nico said.

"Whose safe hands?", Hades asked.

"Hari's", I replied. Hades looked shocked to say the least.

"What was he doing there?", Hades asked.

"He was a spy himself. For us. He will come around.", I said.

"And Nico! What was that noise from the pit? It shook the whole underground."

"I don't know.", Nico said.

"Fine. Questions later. Let me transport you to Hestia's place. She wanted you to go there before going to camp.", Hades said.

"Lord Hades- Do you-"

"I know everything. Hestia told me. I was angry at first. But I am not now. You proved yourself. Relax.", Hades said.

"Does dad know?", I asked.

"Not yet. But you should tell him sooner.", Hades said.

"I will.", I nodded. Hades flashed us to Hestia's Palace. It was warm and Cozy. But I was not expecting to see my friends already there.

"Percy! Annabeth!!", I said and hugged both of them. Both of them hugged me back. I could see a third demigod behind him. Hariharan Sivakumar. The one who helped my mother talking with Hestia.

"Hariharan?", I asked tentatively. He broke his conversation and looked at me with a warm smile, a smile that reflected Hestia's smile.

"Justin. Good to see you. Bring your mother here, so that amma can cure her.", He said and I nodded. Hestia turned into a thirty-year-old woman and touched my mom. She had a faint orange glow and after a minute, all the injuries were closed.

"Now, for the mental Scars, go to Dionysus. But, for now, let her rest. You should tell this to your father before the others. He deserves to know.", Hestia said and I nodded.

"I will help you out.", Percy said. I was grateful really. I didn't know how to confront my father alone. But with Percy's help, it would be easier.

"Thank you. Let us go.", Percy said.

Hestia snapped her fingers and we were next under water. We swam until we reached the doors of Atlantis, where the guards were guarding. When they saw us, the guards blocked us from entering the city.

"Who are you? State the business for entering Atlantis.", one guard said.

"I am Percy Jackson and this is Justin Riverside, my brother. We are the sons of Poseidon and wish to see our father.", Percy said and the guard immediately dropped to his knee and apologized.

"I am sorry prince. You may enter.", the guard said as they let us enter the city. I had never been here before, but heard of the war. The effects of war were still to be seen. The reconstruction work was in full pace. Dad's palace was semi-finished, but still looked good. We went through the corridors and at last entered the throne room where dad was sitting with Triton. They looked at me and smiled.

"Percy!! Justin! Come my sons. What can I do?", he asked warmly.

"Dad. Can we talk in private? I need to tell you something.", I asked as Percy squeezed my hand for assurance.

"Sure.", he said and we three went to his personal room. Not even Amphitrite dared to come here.

"What is the matter Justin?", dad asked with concern.

"Dad... the matter is.....", I couldn't pick up the courage to tell him.

"Dad. I confronted the spy and I know who it is.", Percy said. Dad's eyes widen and then rage filled inside. My heart skipped a beat and I gulped.

"WHO?", he asked dangerously calm. I gulped again.

"Me?", I squeaked, and dad looked at me with utter shock.

"Justin! Is this some sort of prank?!", dad asked dead serious.

"N-no. I was the spy.", I said and sighed.

"Why?! Justin?! WHY??", dad asked teary eyed. I teared up too.

"NO other choice.", I said and kneeled in front of him. He looked at me with contempt.

"Dad! Let me explain.", Percy said, but dad stopped him by raising his hand.

"Who else knows?", Dad asked.

"Me, Annabeth, Chiron, the Chaos Army, Hestia Hades and Rachel.", Percy replied.

"WHY??", Dad bellowed. "My sons are known for their loyalty. How could you betray us? Your fatal flaw is Loyalty!", dad said. He was clearly heartbroken.

"Because of the same fatal flaw dad!", Percy said.

"He kidnapped and imprisoned mom.", I said and dad looked as if he had been tasered.

"What!!", dad asked in disbelief.

"Tartarus kidnapped us. Forced me to turn into a spy. For every single piece of information I get, I would get a minute to see mom. She was trapped. In the Pit. For t-t-two years!!", I said and started to cry. dad looked shocked but hugged me.

"Holy Rhea!! Two years??!", Dad asked and all I could do was nod.

"Why couldn't you tell me? Why?", dad asked as he hugged me tightly.

"I was scared.", was all I could say.

"Now, we saved his mother. So, he no longer needs to be a spy.", Percy explained.

"Justin! I am extremely sorry son. You are a strong demigod. Percy! He can give a run for your money! Such mental strength!! I am sorry. I forgive you whole-heartedly Justin. I forgive you!", dad said and hugged me fiercely. I cried on his shoulders. My dad had forgiven me. That meant a world to me.

"Dad. Thank you. You don't know how much it meant to me.", I said.

"Dad. We need to tell the Olympians. We need Dionysus's help to cure her insanity just in case. She is a mortal and to live there for two years....", Percy shuddered. Dad nodded.

"I will call the council right away. Be ready.", dad said and we nodded as he flashed us with him to Olympus.
