There was a commotion at Spice-Bean Restaurant. Someone 'died' in the middle of eating, and that 'someone' was none other than the creep who kept on asking me to go on a date with him.
'This is a good chance for me to get out of here,' I thought. I looked around at the plates that were piled up near me, ''He sure does have a big appetite,'' I muttered.
As I was just about to get up and leave, I felt someone grab my hand tightly.
''Where do you think you're going?'' Ace said and I froze.
''HE CAME BACK TO LIFE!'' They all shouted.
Ace looked around sleepily and then he looked at me. ''A-Are you okay?'' a random woman asked but Ace just wiped his face with her skirt and she ran away.
''Man. . .Damm...I fell asleep,'' Ace casually said and continue eating but he still hasn't let go of my hand.
''YOU FELL ASLEEP?!'' They all shouted.
''Anyway, what are you guys so worked up about?'' Ace said.
''WE WERE WORRIED ABOUT YOU!'' They all shouted.
''Do you hire comedians or something?'' Ace asked casually. "Uh, no but I'm glad that you're okay," the chef said but ace fell asleep again. I didn't care about him. I just wanted to get away from him as soon as possible, so I took my chance.
While he fell asleep, I got up to leave again but he tighten the hold on my wrist and sat me back down. "You're not going anywhere," Ace said lowly and I nodded in fear. He turned around to look at the chef and grinned at him, "Oh, by the way, Pops."
'What's with the personality switch? Seriously, he reminds me of Luffy," I thought.
"Has this guy come into town? He wears a straw hat," Ace grinned while taking a wanted poster of Luffy. 'Speak of the devil!'
"I guess you don't have a problem with eating in public," We both turned around to see Smoker from the Marines. I was internally crying. I did not want to get involved with pirates and marines. I just wanted to live my life in peace.
"Now what does the Commander of the 'Whitebeard Pirates' second corps want in this country? Well, Portgas D. Ace?" Smoker continued.
I heard a distant voice shouting for a . . restaurant? And thats when the realization hit me, I knew that voice. It was Luffy! I need to get out of here before he gets here.
"I'm on a search for my little brother," Ace smirked. Smoker glanced at me and looked down at our intertwined hands. "And? Is that your girlfriend?" Smoker asked Ace.
"Yes!" "No!" Smoker raised his brow in confusion but shook it off.
Ace and Smoker kept on bickering while I was planning to leave this place because knowing Luffy, he's definetly going to burst in here. But Ace never let go of my hand and it is irritating me.
"As long as I'm a marine and you're a pirate," Smoker uttered.
"Gomu Gomu No. . ." I heard Luffy muttered from a distant and I started to panic. I try to shake my hand off Ace, "Let go of me, Ace," I whispered but he just ignored me and continue to talk to Smoker.
"What a dumb reason. Chill out man," Ace grinned. Suddenly Smoker started flying towards Ace and I instantly knew that it was because of Luffy.
"HUH?!" Ace yelled out. He quickly grabbed me and covered me with his body to protect me from the impact. I got blew away along with Ace.
"WOO-HOO! A RESTAURANT! FINALLY, I'M STARVING!" Luffy cheered.
Ace groaned in pain as he got up but noticed that I was on top of him, holding onto him for dear life. 'How cute,' Ace thought. I blinked my eyes several times and remembered what happened. I got up from Ace much to his dismay. "S-Sorry, but I have to go now."
"Hey-" Ace tried to stop me but I was already gone.
"Finally! I'm away from him. He's so persistent," I panted as I ran further from him. I stopped running when I saw Nami and Vivi. I started to smile in relief when I saw them. They were so nice to me.
"Nami! Vivi!" I shouted as I ran to hug them. They hugged me back in suprised. I was so scared. I don't want to be alone ever again. "Layla!" They both stated.
"Layla-chwannn!" Sanji swooned over me and I didn't mind him. After staying with them for a while, I got used to it. "I've got these clothes for you!"
It was a dancer's clothes and I sweatdropped. "Uh, I'm good," I smiled awkwardly and Sanji cried in disappointment. Sanji turned around to Zoro and grinned at him, "Even if you guys are camoflaged to not look like pirates, compared to the girls, you still look like bandits!"
"How are you any different?" Zoro retorted. I went to sat down on a barrel that was siting next to Zoro. I felt Zoro staring at me. I turned to look at him and smiled at him while he blushed. "You know its not good to stare at people, right?" I chuckled and Zoro's face turned even red in embarrasment.
"I-I'm not staring at you!" He shouted and looked away. 'Such a bad liar,' I thought and laughed.
"Huh? What you doing, Chopper?" Usopp asked as he noticed Chopper laying on the ground while covering his nose. "My nose is going to fall off!" Chopper groaned. "Your nose must be sensitive, Tony-kun. Nanohana is famous for its perfume," Vivi explained. "Perfume?" Chopper cried.
"Like this?" Nami smirked as she sprayed more perfume on herself. "STOP IT! STOP IT!" Chopper yelled out while Sanji swooned on Nami. "Can you get any dumber?" Zoro deadpanned. "WHAAAT?!" Sanji shouted at him, angrily.
"Where we going, Vivi?" Usopp questioned. "Well, first and foremost, I want to stop the rebellion! We don't know when they might rise up and cause needless bloodshed. And the base of the rebellion where the leader lives is an oasis town called Yuba," Vivi answered.
"Wait, hide!" Zoro said as he pulled me to his chest and hide from whatever there was. "Marines, why are they here?" Zoro wondered.
"Did they find a pirate or something?" I asked. We all froze when we heard a very familiar voice screaming.
'LUFFY!'
"Hey! Zoro!" Luffy shouted and Zoro clenched his teeth. "What the?!" It caught the marines' attention as they noticed us hiding.
"Come back once you've lost them, idiot!" We yelled at him in annoyance.
"Get back, men!" Smoker exclaimed as he chased Luffy. "You're not getting away, Mugiwara! White blow!" Smoker shouted as he used his devil fruit ability to punch Luffy but was blocked by . . . fire??
"Kagerou! (Heat Haze)"
"What do you want?" Smoker growled. "Cut it out. You may be 'smoke' but I'm 'fire'. Your powers don't stand a chance against mine!"
