THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, the Egyptian Gods once lived among us. They were praised and worshiped, bowed down to.

All the God relished in it, some could say that's how the term "God complex" was started.

Among those gods, there was one specific one that was cherished a lot more than the others, and her name was "Nut".

She was known as the Egyptian Goddess of the sky, stars, cosmos, mothers, astronomy and the universe.

She played an important part in the evolution as the world began to grow, and along beside her was one of her best friends Khonshu, the God of the moon.

As the two grew up together they shared many things in common but what they would always share together that the other Gods could not was the things in the sky.

Whether it was the Sky itself or the objects in the sky, such as the moon, the stars or the universe itself. They would always be connected to each other one way or another.

But there was one particular day when Ra, the Sun God, who was the second to rule around the world declared that "Nut, shall not give birth any day of the year." Seeing as she already had many children, there was no need for any more.

At the time, the year was only 360 days. Not completing its cycle as we know it.

So, Nut decided to turn to her other friend Thoth, the God of wisdom and he had a plan. He told her to make a deal with her best friend Khonshu for help. His light rivaled that of Ra's, since he was the God of the moon.

The deal was that every time Khonshu lost a game to her, he would have to give Nut some of his moonlight. Khonshu had lost so many times that Nut had enough moonlight to make five extra days.

Since these days were not part of the year – yet – Nut could have children. She went on to have five of them who are now well known Gods.

Osiris, who later became the ruler of the Gods and then the God of the dead.

Horus the Elder, became the God of war.

Set, became the God of evil and the desert.

Isis, who was the Goddess of magic.

And last but not least, Nephthys, the Goddess of water.

When Ra found out, he was furious. He separated Nut from her husband Geb for eternity. Her father Shu, was given the job to keep them apart. Nevertheless she did not regret her decision and neither did her best friend Khonshu.

Time had passed, and Nut thought she could get away with seeing her husband just once, she had missed him dearly. So she set off to see him, but was later caught and apprehended.

Bringing her in front of the Ennead for her trial she was later put into stone.

Khonshu never forgot the day and it angered him dearly when he thought about it, he then began to rebel against the Gods for imprisoning his friend. Which further angered them.

But, he couldn't just simply stand for it, he wouldn't.

So he took off and helped the people of the night, it was his way of remembering his dearest friend and also a way of staying closer to her.

Every night as he helped the people under the night sky he would always think about his nightly travels with her.

Those days he vowed that no one would ever harm a human under the night sky, because this was the one point in time where he and Nut were connected.

As the stars shined bright, he would sing to them until they fell asleep and it would be daytime again.

This went on for many decades, and as Khonshu got older and new rules were changed by the Ennead the Gods got avatars that were people who lived upon the earth.

They would be his fist of vengeance, to help the wrong and punish the guilt.

In some way it was poetic justice, seeing as his friend was wronged but he had no way to punish the guilty Gods, so he knew it had to be done down on earth.

And he did, but sadly this is not a story about two Gods.

No, this is a story about a boy and a girl.

Two best friends who were brought together through childhood, and who were ripped apart by one single gene.

This story is about an avatar of an egyptian god and a mutant.
