"Happy birthday bestie!", you smile brightly and hug your friend tight.
"Thanks Y/N!! So glad to have you here today!", Jennie (your friend) replies.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I come celebrate your 18th birthday with you?", you chuckle.
She smiles and looks over to two guys who walk up to you both. Finding them familiar, you squint your eyes and look at your friend as one of them kisses Jennie leaving you speechless.
"Oh right- he's my boyfriend. It's been a few months now.", Jennie explains as her boyfriend - Jake - hugs her from behind.
"Awh you guys look so cute together! Why wasn't I told about this though?", you hmph.
"Well, I didn't want anyone knowing we were dating. You're the only one who knows.", she smiles.
"Ohh, why do you..", you point at her boyfriend and his friend, "you two look really familiar."
"We're a gaming team. You must've seen us on TV giving our interview last week.", Jake answers.
"Oh right! Yeah, your team's name is thunder isn't it?", you guess.
Jake nods and you smile, turning your attention towards his friend who seems uninterested in the conversation.
"Right I forgot to introduce him. He's our captain. Park Jong―", he pauses as he notices the captain's glare.
"Park Jong-seong?", you add.
"It's Park Jay. Unless you did careful research.", he says looking you up and down before rolling his eyes.
You look at him in disbelief and crack your knuckles.
"Y/N. No.", Jennie warns and shakes her head.
You sigh and glare at Jay before grabbing a full glass of wine and downing it in one go concerning literally everyone around you.
"Well, I apologize Mr Park Jay. I didn't expect the charming, stunning, handsome, captain of thunder to be so cold.", you say with a hint of sarcasm and grab Jennie's arm, "wanna dance together?"
"Oh... Y/N I'm sorry- I promised Jake I would dance with him first. I'll dance with you later though.. sorry!-", she yells with a pout as Jake takes her to the dance floor of the club.
You pout and roll your eyes as you realise you're stuck alone with Jay - the person who you started admiring just before he showed his cold attitude.
You sip on your wine as Jay sits beside you, pouring himself a glass of wine as well. You ignore his presence and look at all the couples dancing happily with each other.
Damn - When could you ever feel any more single?
"Might as well end up single my whole life", you mumble mostly to yourself but Jay hears you.
