IF I SET A FLAME, AND I CALL YOUR NAME

i smiled a weak smile as i looked at the last picture i took with yoongi. tears slowly fell down my face as i looked at how happy he was. nobody would've thought he would've been gone forever the next day.

"i miss you so much yoongi." i sighed. "if i only i could see you, one last time..."

i shook my head, knowing it was impossible. i got up and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. while i was doing so, the lights started flickering and then shut off, leaving me alone in the dark.

"what the hell man!" i groaned, flipping the light switch on and off in a hopeless attempt at trying to get the lights to turn back on. when i accepted that the lights weren't coming back, i went in the bathroom to find the lighter and candle.

"i know for a fact a payed the light bill." i muttered to myself, still confused as to what had just happened. suddenly i heard a loud thump in the living room, making my heart skip multiple beats.

i slowly made my way towards the living room, i looked around to see what had fell and saw that my phone was the one the floor with the picture of me and yoongi still on the screen. when i picked it up to put it back on the table, i was suddenly blinded by a bright blue light shining in my face.

i covered my eyes so block out the extreme brightness. when i opened them again, everything was suddenly black again. i looked around the living to see where the light could've came from, and when i looked in front of me, the sight i saw almost made me drop my candle.

it was yoongi.

but it wasn't the real yoongi. i mean, it was, but it was like his ghost form.

"i-." was all i managed to spit out as i stared at my late best friend floating right in front of me.

"hi y/n." he said softly, smiling that gummy smile i loved so much.

"yoongi..." i almost reached out to give him a hug, but then i remembered he's a ghost. "i miss you so much."

"i miss you too." he floated over to me and sat in front of me crisscross applesauce style. he reached out and touched my cheek, when he did it felt like a huge ice cube was placed on my face. "how have you been?"

"i've been fine." i looked down, tears starting to well up in my eyes.

"what's wrong?" he asked, lifting my head up with his hand so i was forced to look at him.

"why didn't you tell me you were sick yoongi?" tears falling from my face heavily as i started to sob. "why didn't you tell me? i thought we were best friends."

"i'm sorry y/n." he said sadly. "i didn't wanna worry you. i knew the news would hurt you too much."

"hurt more than finding out you died?!"

he stared at me, mouth wide open. this was the first time i had ever gotten angry at him.

"i'm sorry." i mumbled. "it's just i miss you so much sometimes i-sometimes i wonder if i can go on without you."

"of course you can!" he exclaimed. "i'll always be here with you, no matter what."

i furrowed my brows at him i confusion. "what are you talking about? how can you be with me when you're dead?"

"not physically, goofy." he placed his hand on my heart. "spiritually. i'll always be with you in your heart."

i scoffed. "even in death, you're still corny as hell."

we laughed and sat in a comfortable silence.

"so i guess this is goodbye, huh?" i whispered.

"it's not goodbye, y/n." he smiled brightly. "it's just see you later?"

i chuckled. "in the case i guess: see you later yoongi."

"see you later, y/n."

after we said our goodbyes, i saw the bright blue light again. i covered my eyes to block it out, and when i opened them again, the lights were back on and everything was normal again.
