Sting and Natsu planned to spend their last three days as if they were their last together.
________________________If only they did...
________________________But not all things go as planned. Due to Natsu's involvement in the S-Class trails. He had to go on a lot of jobs to earn quick money.
Lucy's rent would be after the trails. Even if she wasn't part of them, hanging around and rooting for her friends is enough reason for her to go.
Since her rent would be due during her time away, she decided to earn the money before the trip to Tenrou and pay it as soon as she got back.
She insisted Natsu, and the others join her. She didn't ask Gray, but she asked Mira-Jane to join, in place of the ice-make mage out of spite.
Gray noticed this, didn't care, but he noted it. Besides he had Juvia by his side 24/7 loneliness wasn't an option.
Though he did miss his friends, and maybe even a certain fire breathing, pyromaniac with a taste for chaos.
But he would never admit that to himself.
Short story, shorter. Natsu had barely any time for Sting. Except for maybe one or two hours a day, if Sting was lucky.
But he did appreciate and cherish the fact that Natsu even with all that to do still managed to make time for him, which is quite admirable.
Yet, Sting couldn't help but worry about the Salamander. He's so pure and seldom worried about himself. He fears the dragon slayer is taking too much on his plate, especially with the S-Class trial coming up soon.
So the few hours Sting spent with Natsu was Sting telling Natsu he needed to rest and make time for himself.
Sting made it clear the other didn't even need to come to see him if it added more to his plate than needed. But Natsu always answered by saying it was fine or that
"Nothing makes me feel happier than helping my friends, and eating."He still worried but he couldn't do much about it.
________________________Final the time to go to Tenrou had arrived and Natsu had come to their secret garden early in the morning in search of Sting.
He looked around the garden for the little dragon slayer.
On the willow. In the Shed. In the hut. And even in the pond. But he was nowhere to be found.
That was when he remembered Sting had an event at his Guild. I think the name was Tiger Fang? Light Saber? Tooth Cat?
Whatever it was something like that.
It was a newly-established guild, Sting had joined with a friend of his, Rod? Scourge?
Whatever!! It was something like that!
He decided to write and crave a note on a nearby rock.
'Didn't get to see you before leaving, but I'll miss you and see you soon. You better be waiting for me. -Natsu'
His messy handwriting is readable. Which was good enough.
He left the rock under the willow tree and headed off.
He boarded the ship, instantly falling to his knees due to the swaying of the ship as it floated in position.
He watched as Gajeel braced himself before stepping unto the ship. He managed to crawl to the side of the ship hanging his head over the safety rail.
Natsu hated moving vehicles but he couldn't help but look forward to the S-class trail alongside his immense discomfort.
He missed Sting, he wishes he could've gotten to see his friend before he left.
