Onika's POV

"Robyn, you come too often now," I teased, opening my door.

"Hey dearheart. Where's Ayla," she said, hugging me and completely ignoring what I said.

"Upstairs, she's asleep," I said.

"Oh well I was bored so I came over," she said.

"So you can come but Beyoncé can't," I said.

"You told her not to," she reminded.

"It's her daughter. If she wanted Ayla she would fight for her," I said. Robyn walked around me and sat on the couch. She shrugged and turned on the t.v.

"That's not fair. She's respecting your wishes. Can you go put on some pants," she asked.

"Why and also respecting my wishes?? This is her daughter," I said looking at my shorts before snapping my eyes up to the side of her face.

"You're showing too much thighs. I can see your pakalaka. I'm not arguing with you about another woman. I said what I said and you said what you said," she answered still looking at the television. I decided not to argue with her and ran upstairs to put on some sweats. Hearing Ayla crying, I went to go get her.

"Ayla. I'm here baby," I said picking her up. She continued to cry and I rocked her back and forth while walking down the steps.

"Why my niece crying," Robyn said walking over to me.

"I don't know, maybe she had a bad dream," I said.

"Give her to me," she said.

"No she don't want you," I said but she proved me wrong and reached for Robyn. I sucked my teeth and handed her over. She instantly stopped crying. "She still don't like you."

"Hater," she sung. Ayla giggled.

"You want something to eat," I asked her.

"Yup I want ribs, steak, mashed potatoes, macaroni, collard greens, and cornbread," she said.

"Alright so microwave fish sticks it is," I said with a chuckle.

"I haven't had them since I was a yute. I'm excited now," she said, putting Ayla down.

"Are you hungry Ayla," I asked. She babbled.

"Say yes I'm hungry Mama. You be starving me," Robyn said imitating her.

"I don't starve her. She eats 3 meals and 3 snacks, like a healthy person should. And it's snack time," I said.

"So you really do plan out her life," she said.

I smiled. "Yes, and more people need to plan out their children's life, so these kids have something to aim for instead of running around being fucking bafoons," I said putting the fish sticks in the air fryer.

"And if it doesn't work out. What if she doesn't follow the plan," she asked.

" Then we adjust the plan to what she wants to do. Life needs a plan," I answered.

"Why didnt you explain it to B like that?"

"Because she's an asshole. She thinks she knows what's best but in actuality she doesn't know shit," I said.

"When was the last time you seen her," she asked and I hopped on my counter.

"You're here everyday when has Beyoncé been over," I said. She opened my legs and stepped between them.
