There is hope

On the ships

Dark Spyro stood on the bow of the lead ship in their very large fleet. He looked out seen as they only had a few days before they reach the Core of Light. Kaos approached him from behind to have a quick word with the empowered dragon.

Kaos:
Isn't this exciting? First we destroy the Core of Light, then we rule all of Skylands.

Dark Spyro:
Your right about it being exciting! But "we" will not rule Skylands, "I" will. After all, I am the one who has the power of ten dragons!

Kaos:
What? But if it weren't for me, you wouldn't have even known how to charge the gem.

Dark Spyro:
Well that's the thing small fry! When your evil, you don't share accomplishments. When "I" take over Skylands, I might also take over all the Kingdoms in the Dragonlands as well.

Kaos then angrily tried to shoot lightning bolts from his fingers and hit Dark Spyro, unfortunately Dark Spyro managed to dodge and hit him with a fireball that knocked him across the ship.

At the Academy (in Spyro's dream)

Spyro could see that he was at the citadel of Skylands and it was very cloudy outside. He saw all the Skypanders and his dragon kind fighting against Dark Spyro's army to protect the Core of Light. He also saw Dark Spyro up in the distance, about to fight what looked like him, only he had blue and gold scales instead of purple and orange. The two versions of him were about to fight when he woke up. He found himself laying on a cot in the middle of the academy. There where eight other cots each with one of the other dragons that were used to charge the jewel, only they were still passed out. He also noticed other Skylanders all sleeping somewhere in the room. Eon was in a crystal that rested on his desk, and Kaossandra was against the wall, still turned to gold. Spyro noticed that Cynder was on the cot next to his. He tried to reach towards her but his arm went limp and he went into a coughing fit. All the Skylanders in the room woke up and looked around. Stealth Elf teleported over to him and patted his back.

Spyro:
(Weakly)What......(cough).......happened?....(cough)....I....(cough).......feel weak!

Stealth Elf:
I don't know! We just found you unconscious!

Eruptor:
Do you remember anything.

Spyro:
(Weakly) No

Jet-Vac:
Hold on Spyro, I don't think you have enough strength to tell us right now.

Dino-Rang:
I just can't believe we lost Dark Spyro!

Fright Rider:
Wait, did anyone else see that small red gem on his chest.

Ignitor:
I saw it.

Skull:
Yeah, it was totally there!

Hex:
He's right (surprisingly)

Skull:
I heard that!

Pop Fizz then comes into the room, holding a tray with eight beakers on it. The other seven Skylanders then wake up as he comes in, they however felt just as weak as Spyro did.

Pop Fizz:
Okay, I made these potions that should slowly restore all of your strength. Everyone help them drink these potions.

They all take on beaker and help one dragon each. Bash was seen giving a potion to Flashwing, then Ignitor to Sunburn, the Flameslinger to Blades, Zap to Echo, Jet-Vac to Drobot, Lightning Rod to Camo, Hex to Cynder and Stealth Elf to Spyro. After they all drank the potion, they where met with a horrible taste.

Spyro:
Pop, what's in that stuff?

Pop Fizz:
You don't want to know! I you need to know is that it will bring back your strength in the next few hours.

Sunburn:
That's great, now all we need is a way to beat all those enemies!

Echo:
Get real Sunburn, we can't beat them now that Dark Spyro is empowered.

Stealth Elf:
Actually, we might still have a chance.

Stealth Elf teleports away and is back in a n instant with Ninjini's lamp.

Stealth Elf:
With this, I can call Ninjini over here to help us.

Stealth Elf begins to rub the lamp and Ninjini then pops out. She looks around as too what is going on here.

Ninjini:
Oh hey! What's happening here?

Stealth Elf:
No time for small talk Ninjini! Can you find Skylanders fast?

Ninjini:
Of course I can, I know where all of them are!

Jet-Vac:
Good, we need you to get all the Skylanders, Giants, Swap Force, Imaginators, all of them then meet us at the Core of Light.

Ninjini:
You got it!

Ninjini then vanishes in a puff of smoke and they look at each other with hope.

Sonic-Boom:
Wait, what about the mummies? We can't just use fire Skylanders!

Spyro:
I know what we need! Dragons, lots of them.

Eruptor:
And where are we gonna get that many dragons?

Spyro:
I think I have enough strength left to have a quick talk with my brother about that.

Spyro then closes his eyes and lays his fingers to his head. He puts all focus into this and eventually, it works. He is now in the Dragonlands in a single cave chamber. The only dragon in there was Fyreos, so he had a chance.

Spyro:
Fyreos!

Fyreos is startled but then noticed his brother's floating head.

Fyreos:
Spyro? What's going on?

Spyro:
I'll explicitly later, for now I need a favor!

Fyreos:
What do you need?

Spyro:
It turns out that the Dragon Jewel was stolen and...

Fyreos:
What? But it's.....oh no.

Fyreos quickly flies down to the vault and grabs the decoy Dragon Jewel. He licks it and realizes that it was fake.

Fyreos:
Strawberry! This is a fake!

He then puts the candy in his mouth and sucks while the conversation continues.

Spyro:
Listen, Dark Spyro is going to corrupt all of Skylands, I need you to bring an army of dragons and meet us at the Core of Light!

Fyreos only looks regretful and looks away from Spyro.

Spyro:
What's going on?

Fyreos:
I'm sorry Spyro, but your on your own!

Spyro:
What?

Fyreos:
The only thing powerful enough to take out the Jewel is the legendary form, and if one uses it and loses the fight, they will be lost forever. Besides, Skylnders are with our kind's enemy, Eon.

Spyro:
Fyreos. Do you not remember? We used to protect the core.

Fyreos:
That was a long time ago!

Spyro:
And we can do it again!  Think about it, big brother.

Spyro the returns to the academy and looks at his friends.

Stealth Elf:
What did he say?

Spyro:
He said he'll think about it! But we can't wait, we have to go, now.

Eon:
Yes, go Skylanders.

They all run to the Dread Yacht and get ready for a battle. Flynn casts off and flies them towards the Citadel to protect the Core of Light.
