The group drives out into the mountains and stops when they get to a barricade. They all get out of the car and start walking through all the wrecked cars and vans that litter the road. A loud gunshot was heard and a bullet almost hits Thomas, "Duck everybody" Thomas yells, and everyone hides behind a car as more shots were fired. "We need to create a diversion," Jeorge says handing Thomas a bomb, "in the count of three you throw it, "one two thr-" Jeorge gets cut off, "DROP IT" two masked girls pointed guns at them. They rip off their masks and question the boys, Aris stands up and when the two girls see him they instantly go and hug him. "Wait you know these guys," Sadie asks, "Yeah they helped me escape W.C.K.D" Aris explains how they can be trusted and they all hop in trucks and drive to the nearby camp. When they get there they are greeted by many rebel faces and one of which is the leader, Vince, he is a strong trustworthy leader and has led many of the attacks on W.C.K.D. Tomas and Brenda were taken to the med hut with a lovely lady called Mary she explained how she has got some serum and takes some of Thomas's blood, and mixes it with the solution. She injects it into Brenda and Thomas leaves the hut to go find the others.

He finds them sitting up on a small hill they all chat when the man that helped them escape W.C.K.D appeared on the rocks above them, he hops down "I told you I would see you again" he laughs, "hey who are you" Newt questions, the man never took his mask off the entire time they talked and when Thomas went to talk to Teresa he disappeared again. "Thomas we should go back to W.C.K.D" Theresa huffed, "What no are you crazy we just escaped" Thomas replied. Teresa looked at him with guilt then he saw the radio in her hands "Teresa what have you done" suddenly lights blinked in the distance, Thomas ran down to warn everyone. The helicopters showed up and the gunfire started soldiers were filling out of the choppers and numerous screams were heard. Newt, Fry, Minho, Aris and Vince were all pushed back and fighting near a truck while 'the masked man' was dropping soldiers like it was nothing. Eventually, the right army was outnumbered and they were all captured and lined up in front of a large air carrier. Ava and Janson stood before everyone when Teresa joined them "Teresa what are you doing" the boys called out to her, "she has chosen the right side to stand on" Ava claimed that Teresa had called them and she was now helping Ava and Janson. This destroyed the boys to know that their first girl had always been right, "Y/N was right all along" Minho muttered, Fry and Newt nodded agreeing with what Minho had said. Thomas walked out from behind a rock holding a bomb, "let them go" he called to Janson and Ava. "Are you sure you want to do that" Janson cocked his head, "Do it Thomas" the boys called from behind him but just as he was going to push the trigger Jeorge raced through in a car and took out a helicopter, starting the battle again.
