I Love You Though... - Byler

Mom drops us -- me, Mike, El, Lucas and Max -- off at the movie theatre.  It's about 5 pm when the movie starts so we've got about 15 minutes to wait.  
I stand next to Mike.  "It feels a bit weird that you're here.  That we're talking in person."  
"I get that, we haven't seen each other in forever."  Mike laughs a bit and puts his arm around me.  He pats my shoulder and then lets go off me.  And in that moment... I feel everything that anyone can feel in a lifetime.  I feel my cheeks turn a crimson colour and I wait for the next ten minutes with my head down, trying not to show my embarrassing flustered face.  I also stand there holding my arms.  And then I see everyone start walking inside.  
"I'll get the popcorn if you'd like."  Mike tells everyone.
"Yeah, thanks."  Max says smiling.  She puts her arm around Lucas and kisses his cheek.  
Dustin is buying a pic 'n' mix and he looked happier than I think I've felt for my whole life put together.  And then I suddenly feel jealous of him.  I don't know why, but I get these moments where I feel like everything is a bit too much, and I just need to sit the fuck down.  "Hey, look how full my bag is!"  
I laugh at him and so does everyone else.  Mike comes over with three boxes of popcorn, only just being able to hold them all.  "Um, please could I get some help." 
I laugh a bit before getting one.  "Why didn't you ask someone to go with you?"  
"To be honest, I don't really know."  He says, giving the other box to Max and Lucas.  

While we are walking into the movies I hand Mike the mixtape I made him before he came here.  "What's this?"  He asks.
I shrug.  "Oh, it's just a mixtape.  Nothing special."  
He laughs.  "Thanks Will."  
On the mixtape I put all my favourite songs that meant something special to me, I don't know why they do.  It's just music seems more meaningful than most things do in my life.
