In the two weeks since her date with the former Slytherin, Hermione had received more owls than she could count. No, not really, but still far too many. When he had spoken about having an excessive amount of free time, he wasn't kidding. While she had started the 'note passing', after his owl had returned for the tenth time in one day, she had enough. It was only after his owl was already gone with her reply that she felt an inkling of remorse. The part about some people actually having jobs was more cutting than she had meant it to be. She didn't hear from him for the rest of the day. Or the next.
Well, if he was going to ignore her after one message, then so be it. She was glad they got whatever they were doing over with so early if he was going to end it over one note. She shook her head as she stepped into the lift. Good Riddance. The thought had barely left her head before the object of said statement stepped in front of her. In full Wizengamot robes.
"Hello, Miss Granger." He was smirking at her as if he hadn't been ignoring her for the past two days... or he had just given her the space she had asked for. He was looking at her like he was trying to prove a point. She suddenly got a very stupid idea stuck in her head. It was absurd, really, but she couldn't will it away. It popped out without her permission.
"Please tell me you didn't take your family's Wizengamot seat just to see me." She couldn't help the pleading tone. He hadn't, had he? Of course, she knew he was thinking about it. They had talked about it on their date, but he hadn't seemed very interested in it. But now that she thought about it, he had smirked a bit when she mentioned how often she worked with the Wizengamot. Had she failed to mention she mostly worked against them?
"Now, Miss Granger, that would be highly inappropriate. I would never do such a thing." He was smirking the whole time. Hermione found herself unable to look away. "But I see someone does think mighty highly of herself. What kind of bloke takes a position just to get closer to a girl?" He was grinning at her now, and she bit back a smile as she forced herself to look away. He made his way around her and stood in the back of the lift. She was grateful. She didn't know how to combat this version of Theo Nott. She was used to his dark and intense brooding stares, but this was completely different. Even the Theo she had gone to brunch with had been different, nervous and shy even. She found she was no match for this new flirtatious attitude. If the lift didn't stop soon, she would definitely do something stupid.
He had taken a step closer to her. She felt the heat of him against her back. She kept her eyes facing forward and let out a sigh of relief as the lift began to slow. He had somehow begun to unravel her in the time it took to get to level four. She steeled herself. She would not make this easy on him. She huffed out a laugh as she took a step forward.
"Yes, that would be quite absurd. One could almost say it would be obsessive."

After getting no help from Theo, Blaise still had to find a way to subtly run into Granger. He knew he couldn't be too obvious with his intentions. Theo was right; she would think something was up if he just asked her out. But his brainstorming was cut short. He was called back to Tutshill for practice, which left him no spare time for planning. Somehow, even with his mind all over the place, he had still played a great game. In lieu of celebrating their victory with his team, he flooed back to Theo's instead. Hoping after having her to himself for the past two weeks, he would finally help Blaise out a bit.
Finding the place empty, he sat back with a glass of firewhiskey and waited
Until he got bored of that, of course. He paced around the study until he ended up at Theo's desk. His eyes quickly caught more than one note with a neat H.G written at the bottom. He had a moment's hesitation before he skipped over those. While he did feel himself losing patience, he was not desperate enough to read their private messages. Even while it was so tempting. He picked up the rest of Theo's mail and took a seat. He was halfway through the pile when he heard the floo.
