Hogwarts, 6th Year

~Draco Malfoy~

He's more distracted than usual. The looks from Theo and Blaise would be enough to clue him in that his behaviour was out of sorts. He's hovering above the pitch, looking for any sign of the familiar golden flicker, but his eyes keep wandering. Wandering to a person they most definitely should not be wandering toward. And he hates her for it. She never comes to quidditch games. Since Hermione Granger had entered his notice two years ago, he had never seen her attend a quidditch match. Not even when Ravenclaw was playing. She comes to one game and now he can't focus. Even Theo, who has been obsessed with her since at least third year, seems to keep his head in the game.

He spares her one last glance before shoving all thoughts of her aside. It's the Quidditch Cup, his first year as captain. He has got to catch his snitch. Blaise has been on his game today. Slytherin is sixty points. He just had to get the snitch first. In the last four years, Potter has only outstripped him twice.

Draco knows as soon as he sees that familiar fluttering that he's got it. Potter is all the way across the pitch as Draco dives for the snitch. He hears the loud screams of the Slytherins as his outstretched hand finally closes around the golden ball. The cheers continue as he flies back up to his team. He smirks as he holds the snitch in two fingers high above his head.

And he knows he shouldn't do it. The teasing is usually Blaise's thing. But he finds her in the crowd and winks. In front of everyone. He knows he'll probably pay for it later, whether it be Theo or Pansy. He can't find it in himself to care. He just won the Quidditch Cup with his best mates and the girl he has begrudgingly accepted that he's also a little obsessed with is giving him his favourite look.

She's glaring at him. Her wild hair sparking around her. Her arms crossed and pulled tightly around her. Theo gets her cold, quirked brow, daring him to say something. Blaise gets her blushing silence. He gets her like this, hardly able to contain her anger. And he loves it. The fierceness she can't seem to contain around him.

Maybe his ways of getting her attention are a little juvenile, but he could never outright make a move for her. She had been Theo's first, even if she didn't know it.
