Tae-san sips her tea before putting down the cup. "So, what is it you wanted to ask me?" She asks in her direct tone. Since Aoba's still in Germany for about a day I decided to ask Tae-san about what happened with Koujaku and me. I would've asked Aoba when I called him but since I hadn't talked to him in a while I completely forgot. So I thought Tae-san was my best second choice. She seemed somewhat happy to see me and prepared tea when I came into the house. I stare down into my own cup of tea, looking at my reflection.

"Well you see Tae-san, something... Strange happened between me and Koujaku the other night." I start out. I'm not sure how I can properly explain it to her, since she wasn't there in Oval Tower, but... "Don't tell me you've come for relationship advice because I'm an elderly person." Tae-san tells me. Well, I'm not sure if this would count, but I don't think we're on the same line here. I shake my head. "That's not it, it's more something that has to do with something Aoba told me about. Something called, uh... Scrap?" Tae-san's eyes widen when I mention it. So I guess I was right thinking she'd know about it. "I'm listening. Why do you think it has to do with Scrap?"

I ended up telling her about that night and the time in Oval Tower, making sure not to miss any important details. Tae-san finished her tea quicker than usual, so I'm thinking she has something important to tell me. "(Y/N). You're well aware of the experiments your father preformed. I used to work for him and worked on the Scrap project. I recall seeing something about an early stage of the project. I had no idea what it meant before, but I'm sure of it now." Tae-san says. She sounds more serious than she is normally. "Early stage? What do you mean?" I ask.

"Toue had started the project before he came to Midorijima, the file mentioned something about it being on a fairly young person. I'm thinking he somehow experimented on you first." Tae-san explains and I ball my fist. That man.. He was already like this before he went mad and divorced my mother? "So, what does it mean, Tae-san?" I ask. "Well, seeing as how you didn't actually destroy anything yet, I'd think you can't do much harm with Scrap. With Aoba, however, it's a whole other story. But I'm sure he can tell you himself, since he'll be back from Germany soon." Tae-san tells me with a serious look.

Well, if I can't really do much harm I suppose I shouldn't worry too much. And it'll be nice when Aoba comes back. I have so much to tell him. "I see. Thank you for explaining, Tae-san." I bow my head to show my appriciation. "Oh please, raise your head, child. That reminds me, are you going to the summer festival later this week?" She asks me. I wonder if she's going to help out like with the tamaokuri festival... "Well, Koujaku and I were planning to, yeah. Why?" I ask her. Is she worried that something will happen? "Nothing too special, I was just wondering if you already have a yukata. I've only ever seen that red kimono of yours." Tae-san pours some more tea into our cups.

Now that she mentions it, I guess I really should invest in a yukata. Festivals like this aren't rare in Japan, after all. "I don't, the red kimono is my only one." I tell her. "Well, if you want a yukata, I've got some that used to belong to Aoba's mother. They're clean, of course." Aoba's mom, huh. Aoba never really had a lot to say about his parents since they travelled a lot. But from what I can grasp she was supposedly really kind. "I couldn't accept them though.. Don't you want to keep them as a keepsake, Tae-san?" Aoba's parents aren't around anymore, so I don't think Tae-san should really give them to me... Tae-san soon shakes her head and gets up.

"No, I'm fine with it. Besides, I think they'd suit you." She tells me, looking through a drawer in the living room. Tae-san soon returns with a couple of yukata's stacked atop eachother. They have subtle flower patterns on them and look way less formal than my red kimono. "Here, just accept them." She tells me with a kind expression on her face. Tae-san usually looks so stern, but she seems more peaceful like this, so I'd like to see this expression more often. If she really wants me to have them, I suppose I can't refuse. I nod with a small smile.
