ESTE BARELY MET ANYONE ON THE WAY DOWN. The human receptionist (a different one to the woman that Este would've once recognised) called out to her but Este strode past as though silence was all that had greeted her. The walk was longer than she wanted it to be, occasionally she ran knowing that everyone was convened within the large hall.

She had no idea what they were doing. Was Edward still alive? Had Alice and Bella made it in time? Este was well aware that Bella was within the halls as when she opened the entrance doors she could smell the scent of blood fill the air around her. It was a good thing that her eyes were a glowing amber or her panic would've let her mind run away.

Este saw Edward first as she strode into the room, he had Bella next to him. His arm was around her out of worry and fear. It was evident in his eyes that the thoughts of the Volturi weren't what he wanted to hear yet Este had expected this. Bella's presence went directly against everything. Alice stood close to Bella's other side. Aro in front of them.

There were more people within the room that usual. Marcus and Caius sat in their thrones surrounded by assistants in long dresses and expensive suits. The gifted stood dotted around with their own companions. A room this large could only mean one thing, it was feeding day. Este wondered if Bella fitted into this bracket.

"It looks like you're having a party down here!" Este made her presence known as she strode forwards, "my invitation must've got lost in the post"

She received a number of different reactions. Edward looked away, guilt in his eyes. Alice seemed exasperated but she must have see the clear decision in Este's head. Bella looked confused, Aro ecstatic, Caius murderous and Marcus just as bored as usual.

"If it isn't my favourite Cullen!" Aro beamed, "I had no idea you were coming Estella, what a lovely surprise"

"You know I don't miss an opportunity to come to Volterra" Este replied, coming to stand next to Alice, "when I heard that Edward was trying to get himself into trouble I thought I'd come and smooth things over myself"

"Smooth things over!" Caius yelled, "last time you attempted to sort things out it was carnage!"

"One death is hardly carnage Caius" Este smiled politely, "so nice to see you too"

Caius scoffed loudly, not hiding the evident hatred he held for Estella in his eyes as he folded his arms coldly and looked in disgust towards Marcus who didn't meet his stare.

"We were just in the midst of all that" Aro clapped his hands together, "it's all very exciting Estella I am glad you could join us for this—"

"Can we get on with it" Edward interrupted. Este didn't look towards him but she did place her hand comfortingly on Alice's shoulder.

"Yes of course, of course" Aro sighed, "Estella you'll be happy to know that Edward did not get away with his devious plan... Bella got there in time. I was just saying how I love a happy ending!"
