I Wouldn't Mind

Chapter 3: Shopping

It was a short, quiet drive to the mall in Halifax. Once we pulled up my dad thought it would be best to just give me his bank card and go shopping by myself, which I didn't mind. I was actually relieved.

My dad and I parted ways and I went around searching for Spencer's or even a Hot Topic. Soon enough I found both stores, right across from each other. I decided to go into Spencer's first because I liked their selection more.

I walked over to a rack with different belts, beanies, snap backs, wallets and some chokers. I picked out a Batman belt, and a Legend of Zelda belt. A purple and black beanies, a plain black leather wallet, and 2 chokers. One with a moon, and the other a pentagram.

The piercing section caught my eye and of course I quickly scrambled over. There was a sale thank god. Buy 2 get 2 piercing free. Life is now made. I picked out swirly pink 0G spacers and some black tunnels. Then I got 2 6G spiky hoops. One for my septum and the other for my bottom lip.

Once done I walked out, grabbing my 2 bags and headed to Hot Topic. There was a lot of people in this mall and it sucked. I hate large crowds and it is hard to breath. I just want to be in and out. I quickly find my size and grab a few pairs of jeans, some ripped and regular. I got a few pairs of shorts too, and some tank tops and random band shirts.

I had a text from my dad telling me to meet him in front of the mall because he was ready to leave. I sighed, putting my phone back into my pocket and exiting the store. As soon as I walk out, I bump into a tall figure. It was.. Well he was just a little taller than me, wearing all black and dark eyes.

" Im so sorry.. I am very clumsy. Wont happen again." I quickly mumble out. Avoiding eye contact. God, my face was probably as red as a tomato by now. "Its not your fault. I should be paying more attention. Names Eric. You?" I just stood there. Shocked. "Uh.. Well.. Eh.. My name is Jennifer.. B-but you c-can just call me Jenn." I am really bad when it comes to stuttering. It is a bad habit. "Well Jenn you are very beaut.." "Sorry I have to go now, bye. Nice running into you Eric" I said cutting him off and rushing away, out of the mall entrance and into my dads car.

"How was it? What did you buy?" My dad looked at me with a small smile. I should probably talk to him sooner or later. "It was nice. I just got some clothes and stuff." I manage to mumble out to his surprise. I handed him back his bank card and he started the engine of the car, driving out of the parking lot.

"Listen Jenny.. I realize you are upset but your mother and I just want you to be happy, and maybe after you get used to it here, it will be better. I promise ok?" My dad said, looking at me through the rear view mirror. I just kept my gaze on passing things outside.

We finally pulled up to the house. I quickly grabbed my bags and ran into the house, and into my room, slamming the door behind me.

I unpacked my bags, including my suitcase since I obviously wasn't leaving any time soon. I put all my clothes away into my dresser. I put all my belts and things in my walk in closet. I looked at the time on my phone. 4:36 pm. Didn't take as long as I thought.

I was a little tired so I decided to take a nap. I soon fell into a deep sleep, ignoring all the voices in my head.
