dinner with the mendes'

I woke up with my mom yelling in my ear.

"GABRIELLA WE HAVE GUESTS COMING OVER IN FIFTEEN MINUTES GET UP"

woah I guess I slept for longer than I thought. it was 6:45 and I fell asleep at 2:30 to take a little nap. I decided to get up and get ready. I threw on some leggings and an oversized knitted white sweater and I put on a gold statement necklace and did some light makeup and with that I mad my way down stairs. As I walked down the stairs I realized how good it smelt.

"Wow mom your cooking a never smelt this good since my fifth grade graduation dinner" I said

"haha very funny gabby" my mom replied

I went to go steal a piece of bread when my mom slapped my hand and told me to set the table.

"wait gab" my mom said "I think you need to make friends with this Shawn kid, it could be a great chance for you to finally make a friend!" my mom exclaimed.

"yea yea whatever mom" I said finishing up setting the table.

Soon the door bell rang and I walked over to go open it.

"hey Mrs Mendes-"

"call me Karen" she said happily walking towards my mom.

"hey Shawn" I said.

"hey gabby!" he returned happily

We all walked to the kitchen and sat down to eat dinner. The two moms were talking up a storm, while it was just silence between me and Shawn, but it wasn't awkward it was just kinda normal. After we finished eating my mom told us to go downstairs and watch a movie or something while they watch some show that they both like or whatever. The two of us walked downstairs I grabbed the remote and just turned on the tv and just left whatever show was on. I was silent for a awhile, and this time it was awkward.

"so.." Shawn said

"so.." I returned

"I don't know I just wanted to start a conversation because neither of us were talking" we both laughed.

"well I guess I'll start off by asking what grade your in??" I asked

"well that's a pathetic way to start off a conversation" he joked "but I'm gonna be a junior" he answered

"really me too! maybe we have some classes together, wait your going to Wilson High School right?" I asked

"yea haha I'll let you know when I get my schedule" Shawn said

"ugh that reminded me Christmas Break is over in like a week" I replied sadly

"at least your not gonna have to be the "new kid". Shawn joked

"yea, school would be hell for me with way." I said

"but hey wanna watch a movie!" Shawn asked

"oh yea sure" I said grabbing the remote. we decided to just choose the first movie on Netflix and watch it. We were on opposite sides of the couch awkwardly. but during the movie Shawn started scotching over, then ended up right next to me not leaving any space. It was very awkward he put his arm around me and held me very tight, I wasn't complaining though, he was comfortable, but it was odd considering we haven't even known each other for 24 hours

"you're really cute" he whispered shyly, then he let out a huge yawn.

I was shocked did those words really just come out of his mouth. "Shawn we just met this is kinda-" I got interrupted by light snores coming from Shawn. He fell asleep. Soon I fell asleep with Shawns arms around me

What am I doing What's happening I met this kid this morning and now I'm sleeping with him.

I was awoken by the basement door opening. I realized it was My mom and Shawns mom so I kept my eyes shut because it would of been uncomfortable with my mom and the mom of the guy sleeping next to me noticing me and talking to me.

"aww" they both whispered.

"I'll just let him sleep here if you don't mind I don't wanna disturb him just send him home in the morning" mrs Mendes said.

"Certainly, no problem" I heard my mom respond.

they thought it was cute which surprised me because I would think my moms initial reaction would be to freak out, but that was the last thing I remember until I feel asleep again.

yoo guys I know it seems like this story is going way to fast but I have an idea of what I'm doing:-)
