Y/n was escorted from her chambers to King Odin in the throne room, her mid-length curly auburn hair flowing behind her.

"Do you know what this is about, Sif?" You asked Thor's true love, as she walked along side you. "I'm afraid not Lady Y/n. But I'm sure it's nothing to be afraid of. You know how much Odin loves you." It's true, she did know how much Odin loved her. Treated her as if she was his own. He took her in after her parents disappeared in the battle they took on when she was only six years old, defending their home, trusting Odin and Frigga to protect their only daughter while they were away. All she's ever known was Asgard. Frigga treated her like the daughter she's always wanted, and waited terribly for her to start calling her mother. She loved her and adored her like she loved her sons.

Y/n would often ask Frigga what her home realm Cardenia was like. Frigga had said it was all in ruin now with no one to rule it, and said that in due time, Y/n would have to take her rightful place as Queen. To restore what all was lost in the once beautiful kingdom, filled with love and laughter. There was green and wild flowers growing everywhere. Waterfalls on mountains every which way. It was a sight to behold. Until Y/n was ready to take her thrown, it would stay in ruin. Never to look the same as it once did again.

Once Y/n and Sif had made it to the thrown room doors, Y/n looked over at Sif. Sif gave her a small smile. "Good luck Y/n. I'll be right here waiting for you. He had requested you meet alone." Y/n nodded her head, took a deep breath in, and opened the doors, entering the thrown room.

"Allfather, you requested to see me?" Odin was sitting on his thrown like the proud and Nobel King he was. "Ah yes, Y/n my dear, come. I want to introduce you to someone."

Y/n did as she was told and walked closer to the thrown. She was a few feet away when she noticed the devilish handsome man standing off to the side. Watching her with curiosity. Y/n was confused, she thought it would just be the two of them. What was all of this truly about?

"Y/n, this is my adopted son Loki. Loki, this is Y/n. I took her in after her parents disappeared. A most unfortunate accident." You look over to the man named Loki, walking closer to you, who had his hand extended for you to shake. "Y/n. Nice to finally meet you." Y/n took his hand. "And you, Loki." Y/n always heard Thor had a brother, but never had actually met him.

Y/n remembered once seeing a boy with dark hair and the most beautiful blue eyes she'd ever seen roaming the halls once. Pulling a prank on the guards, making them think there was a snake on the floor. Y/n giggled, and the boy looked up and smiled at her. He waved to her right as soon as Frigga walked up. "Oh dear Y/n, come along now darling, you must stay on this side of the palace." Y/n always wondered why she could only be on one side of the palace, or in the gardens for tea time. Wondering what or whom they were keeping her from. Thor and Sif would often come over and play games and do puzzles with her. They quickly became her best friends. The only friends she knew.

Something was different about him, she could feel it in her bones. "Allfather, what is this really about? Why are we only meeting now if this is Thor's brother?" Odin smiled warmly at her. "My dear child, I have decided it is time. It is time that the two of you marry." Y/n and Loki stared at him, mouth agape and eyes wide. "Marry?!" They both say in unison. "I'm sure she's a lovely girl father but I am not ready to be married. There is much I want to do first."

Odin looked at Loki. "My son, you will marry Y/n and help her to restore her kingdom. I was wanting to wait until we could find her parents but we have looked long enough. Y/n must take her place as the rightful ruler of Cardenia. And you son, will help her. She can not take the thrown if she is not married, and this marriage will do some good for you as well my son. I believe Y/n will be able to change you. Make you into the Loki I know you really are. This is why I didn't have you meet until now. To plan everything out accordingly. I wanted to wait to have her parents approval but sadly.." Odin stopped short and looked sadly into Y/n's eyes.

"So that's it then. You have stopped searching for my parents?" Y/n was heartbroken. All this time for the past 18 years she had hope in her heart that they would find them again. She didn't want to believe that they were lost forever, never to return to her again. Y/n had tears in her eyes, threatening to fall. "This is a lot to take in, please excuse me, Allfather." Odin nodded his head, and Y/n walked out of the room.

After a few moments Loki spoke up. "I suppose I shall check on my bride to be. How could you do this father? We know nothing of each other." Odin turned his head to him. "Loki, she needs you, and you need her. Trust me when I say, I have this all planned out. This is for the best. Right now she feels alone, of course she always felt that way, and you son, though you hide it, I can tell you do too. This is the best thing for the both of you. You'll soon come to realize that. I was originally going to have her and Thor marry, but then I saw her reading a book in the garden one day, she had this sad, hopeful look in her eyes, and kept looking away from her book. I could see a little of you inside her. Just as I see a little of her, inside you. You need each other."

Loki thought about this for a moment. What if they really are alike? Can they really help each other in a way no one else can? Is it possible for someone to truly love him one day? "I will do my best for her father. And for you." Odin smiled proudly at his son. "I know you will son. You may leave now, can you send Thor in? There are urgent matters I must speak to him about before he leaves for midgard again. Get a good night sleep son, you will be getting married tomorrow night." Loki bowed, then left the thrown room.
