You and L had been in a relationship for a few months now. You both were still discovering parts of each other and sharing thoughts. It was weird indeed, for both you and him, as both of you hadn't been in a relationship like this before. And L was insecure of himself.
He had never been able to get with someone due to his "looks" people would just look at him weirdly, as if he was a freak. And he recognized that he, maybe, really was one. So, it wasn't a surprise that he thought spending money on you wouldn't want you to leave him. You appreciated this, however, you loved him the way he was.
And he needed to know this.
It was late afternoon, every member of the task force had left. L was, of course, still working on the Kira case, which he was quite sure Light was really Kira. You were involved in it as well, but it started to affect L whenever he saw you with Light. Light was handsome, you were gorgeous, and him... well he didn't think well of himself.
L sighed as he went over every clue he had about Kira. You entered the room shortly and put your hands on his shoulders, as of to hug him. "Hey, don't you think it's time to rest?" you said. "Nonsense, Y/n. If we want to catch Light in the act; we need to find clues and ideas for it," he said in response.
You hummed at his behavior, of course he was gonna say that. L's expression suddenly changed, to a very very miserable and sad look. He looked at you, "Y/n. Why are you with me? Look at yourself and at me. I don't deserve you," he said. You frowned at his words but smiled alas.
"You do, and if anything— I don't deserve you! Look at yourself, you're so cute and intelligent, you're everything I need," you said. His face slowly started to turn into a smile at your wholesome and supporting words. "Thank you, Y/n..." he said. He wasn't the one to cry, but you— you just lifted his heart.
"Let's catch Kira and live a beautiful life together. After all, justice has to prevail," he said. And back he was, to the confident and justice sensed man. "Sure, but first, you need to rest. So, lay on bed and sleep," you said. He finally nodded and followed you to your before lonely bed.
But that bed now carried two people, and they were lovers. L felt at ease and at comfort, it was the best feelings to just be with you. He cuddled with you as much as he could, trying to express just how much he loved you...
