Tired / taking a short break from writing the chapter for my fic so I'll be plotting down unorganized notes here.
I will update this later. Some of my ideas are messy as I'm writing this from the top of my head.

RECOMMENDED:
THE PSYCHOPATH TEST [BOOK] BY JON RONSON.
JCS - CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGY [YOUTUBE CHANNEL]
Cannot think of anything else right now. Will update later.

- The guilty often fiddle with their hands when they're anxious about the future. Self pacifying method.

- When interviewing someone who claims or implies that their actions were due to a mental health disorder, the detective must ensure a calm, encouraging demeanor as well as a non-confrontational manner.

- When interviewing someone who claims or implies that their actions were due to a mental health disorder, detectives will offer the suspect food or a glass of water. Rejecting it will merely show that the suspect cares about the situation over their basic needs.

- [From the Stephanie Lazarus interrogation:] Their plan of attack in that interrogation was to keep the conversation as calm, non-confrontational, and casual for the longest time possible before they cautiously awaited key moments to initiate confrontation.

- If the offense [like murder, let's say] was decades beforehand [with the victim known to the suspect], the suspect may act as if they have not remembered their name for an extensive period. The suspect may be attempting to indicate that they had no reason to murder the victim, or had not thought about the victim in so long. The suspect may plaster a synthetic prolonged reflection/pause across their face.

- It would be odd if the suspect hesitated to or did not volunteer information on the relationship they had with the victim, especially if it was significant. A truthful, genuine suspect would most often volunteer that sort of information almost immediately.

- Overexplaining or going on unrelated tangents as means of momentary relief. A subconscious coping mechanism.

- [Jennifer Pan interrogation] Jennifer, oddly enough, describes the killers/intruders as 'gentlemen.' She tries too hard to appear meek and harmless that she takes on the polite tone of someone desperately attempting to sound like a helpless victim.

- Some suspects who are not aware that they're regarded as suspects may look at the detective for approval if they happen to trip on their words or make a mistake.

- [Jennifer Pan interrogation] At 16:35, she mocked the way her father was screaming in pain.

- Obvious, yes, but serial killers had often harmed animals when they were infants.

WILL UPDATE.
