How'dya think it feels, too young to
understand what kidnapping is?
Born on the side of the tracks where anything went. Guards tried, oh they tried to contain the chaos and rampages, obviously they couldn't. Seeing by the time I was taken away I didn't really even know my name. All I could remember was... De.. Da? Something dumb with a D. I woke up to a lot of yelling, seeing the harsh red-orange sky in the earliest morning as I was being taken by, who I would call Dad, to later find out he wasn't my actual dad. Yeah.
Hey, well what if my real family sucked? ...I don't know what im talkin' about, I was forced to be a crime lord, of course life back there would've been better. But its whatever now, can't change the past, so I'll make the present entertaining. Just trying not to blow up any important-looking buildings next time.
Oh, the building story is for another day. Me and T'Kestrel, or TK, or Kester, whatever he feels like being called, hes my partner in crime. He taught me a lot for being only a little bit older than me. Taught why they called me 'mantis' to then be 'D'Mantis.' They have a naming system in this criminal compound, its a letter, little dash-thing, and what creature fits you. They said I leaped like a mantis when I lash out. Meaning they think TK flies in, takes stuff, out in the blink of an eye. Which is accurate.
Someone had suggested 'D'Leopard' but the whole thing Kruez, or 'Dad' went on about, "You have to start with a smaller title, he can be leopard when hes ready to take on such a name," Or something. So they stuck me with the bug. 'D'Leo' would be WAY better than an abbreviation than 'D'Man.' I hate it.
You got to choose your first letter, my reason was its all I remember from home, my first letter in my old name. For TK? He said it just sounds cool, when his first name was 'T'Wasp.' I hope people just called him Wasp, I think T'Wasp sounds like an insult. I wont bash him though, hes real good at what he does.
Well, me and him are about to pull a ride on a supply train. There's been a lot more trains moving about and were just gonna go out and spy, maybe take some food, we'll plan more when the sun isn't melting our scales. I love seeing the views the trains show rolling on the sides of mountains along with TK. Even if TK isn't really paying attention to the sights to see, mapping out train routes. Again, nothing on him. I wanna figure out how he learned all this stuff.
