Toni POV: 

I laughed with my hand on Tonya's shoulder. she had become my best friend over the weeks. I loved her really. we were literally the same person. just in a different human form. we had just finished our classes on campus for the day. it was still the same schedule since corona. 3 classes on campus 3 days out of the week alternating with online classes at home the other days of the week. each week the sports had two days of practice on campus which might get moved to 3 soon.

that being said I had made the volleyball team. but not only me. Tonya had made it too. she wasn't there at the beginning of tryouts since she was new to the school but once I told her about me doing it she begged them to at least let her participate in the final day of try outs and she did amazing, 

blew the coaches away. they asked if she had played before and she said she played when she was younger but not much since. I had one or two assignments that I needed to finish when I get home but I was still in deep thought walking with Tonya about whether or not I wanted to stop and get something to eat instead of going straight home. 

pulled out of my thoughts when I heard someone screaming my name. me and Tonya both turned around to see a smiling Melo running my way. I pulled away as he pulled me into a hug.

I laughed at him. we had been texting for the past 2 weeks. getting back on good terms as friends again. he ended up telling me that he saw himself catching feelings for me and that he didn't want to look at me that way. so he distanced himself from me a bit. I was a bit shocked but I can't really blame him for prioritizing  himself.

while locked in the hug I noticed Tonya eyeing him up and down. I'm sure she noticed them around school, however I had spoken much about them at all.

looking off into the distance I saw 2 familiar guys and a girl. avoiding their eye contact I looked at Melo as we pulled away from each other. 

Me: what's up dude

Melo: nun. I wasn't sure If I was gonna see you here today since we stayed up so late playing games. surprised you got out of bed this morning.

he said while roughing up my hair. I mugged him while slapping is hand away.

Me: first of all bitch! don't be airing out my business. 

he threw his head back giving me a ugly laugh in return. before her noticed Tonya

Melo: oh wassup!? did little Toni here make a friend?

he asked eyeing her up and down I noticed her smirking at him 

Me: bitch... no you did not just call me little. I'll beat yo as-

I stopped when he put his hand in my face still looking at Tonya

Melo: hush.... the real question is... what is your name and where should I get it tatted
