"Girlfriend? Vincent no!" I yelled.

He put his finger over his lips telling me to shush.

His two friends walked into the room, giving Vincent high fives and small talk. Once he closed the door his friends turned and looked at me. They then looked me up and down which made me feel uncomfortable.

"Man, Vincent who is this hot stuff?" They mocked.

I tried to back up but I was stopped when Vincent put his arm around my neck.

"This is my girlfriend, Zoe," He said as he turned to me and gave me a wink.

Hearing that hit me hard as if having the same impact as a train hitting a person. I gulped and glared at Vincent.

"Isn't that right, sweetheart?" He asked.

Still glaring, I nodded and let out a sigh. They didn't seem to notice or really care about the busted lip or the black eye that basically took up my entire face.

Vincent finally let go of me and walked his buddies over to the kitchen to get snacks and get started on drinks. His friends went straight for the wine and poured half a cup into a glass cup. They all lifted up their drink and made a toast to being "Best Bros." After they took a drink, they set their cups down and looked at me.

"Hey darling come join us, we don't bite," Vincent said. "Well, maybe they do but I would never do that to you, right?"

I looked at him and gulped, "Yeah babe." Just saying that felt like I was swallowing knifes. "But uh, I don't drink remember?"

"C'mon one little drink isn't going to hurt now is it?" he said as he poured me a glass.

His friend with super curly, dirty blonde hair and brown eyes pulled out a chair next to him, patting it and signaling me to come sit down. I really didn't want to be anywhere near them. They seemed like hound dogs just looking for fresh meat to have, and I wasn't going to be the one to give it to them. I slowly strolled over and sat down. Vincent passed me a drink from across the counter and gave me a sly smile. Grabbing ahold of it, I looked inside and shook it a little. The smell didn't smell too bad, it was almost like grape juice. They all continued to look at me and wait for me to drink it. Closing my eyes, I took a sip and I was surprised when it didn't taste too bad.

"How is it?" the guy with the baseball cap asked.

"It's pretty good," I said. "By the way, what is your guy's names?"

Vincent pointed to the curly haired guy, "This is Brent, and this is Charlie" pointing to the guy in the hat. I reached out my hand to officially greet them. Maybe this will be a fun night after all. After a little small talk, we headed into the entertainment room to watch a recorded football game. I guess they were all really interested in football, because as soon as Vincent turned on the game they started yelling, cheering and then giving each other high-fives. I sat awkwardly in between Brent and Vincent. Vincent wasn't as much into football as his friends were but still enjoyed watching it. During the game, he decided to put his arm around me as we were watching the game. That startled me and I gave him a look of question.

"What are you doing? They already know I'm your so-on-so 'girlfriend' so you don't need to do this you know that right?" I asked.

"So? If I'm playing the role of your boyfriend I should treat you like I am one sweetheart," he replied.

"Fine," I took a deep breathe. "But after tonight this act ends, got it?"

He glared at me like what I said didn't make him too happy. His awkward but intimidating glare was interrupted by the guys shouting once more about the referee making a bad call.
