The Devil needs a sitter

I couldn't say a word.

I stood there motionless, my jaw hanging wide open, in complete and total shock.

I felt all the blood rush from my head and it made me dizzy.

The girl who I tried to help and ended up helping me, the girl who stood up for herself when she looked so passive and timid, the girl with her black hair and gray eyes that hypnotized you.. Was the devil.

The devil was the girl from the parking lot...
The girl from the parking lot was the devil...
The girl who saved me and stole my sweater.. Was the devil..

My brain felt like it was on fire, burning everything that made sense. Erasing everything, my ability to hear, to think or speak. I was incapable of processing anything else.

All I could hear was the muffled screams of panic from my classmates, and all I could see was in slow motion. As if time stood still. Her elbow rising far above her head, only for it to repeatedly come crashing back down into the girls face. Over.. And over.. Again.

It felt like hours, hours that could never end. That is until I felt myself being shoved out of the way by our schools administrators and staff. As quickly as a sudden slap to the face, everything returned to regular speed.

I watched as they quickly rushed over to the two girls and tried to pry her off, they eventually succeeded, but not without a few injuries of there own.

A group of the girls friends rushed over to her laying on the carpeted floor, clutching her face in her hands. As they lifted her off the floor, a pool of blood was left where she was lying.

"Quickly take her to get her cleaned up." Our teacher had said while swiftly pushing them out of the room.

All of a sudden I felt a hand firmly grip my shoulder. "Hey man? Are you okay?" Kendall quietly whispered to me so no one else would hear.

"Y-yeah." I quietly stuttered back.

Everyone quickly whipped there heads up to the high hanging intercom as it slightly buzzed. "Will William Blanch please report to the office? William blanch please report to the office." I recognized the nasally voice of one of the woman from the main office.

All heads turned in my direction, with a sigh I silently nodded to my teacher. As she nodded back I made my way out of the classroom.

As I slowly descended the stairs the strangest thing happened, I couldn't think. Am not sure why, normally I can't get my brain to shut up, but right now.. It feels as if am an empty shell of myself.

It took me a mere few seconds to make my way to the main office, when you've been to this school as long as I have you already know where all the short cuts are. No matter how slow your walking.

I slowly I turned the brass knob, carefully walking toward the nasally woman who had called me here. Her black rimmed square glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, and her slightly smudged hot pink lipstick lining her wrinkled mouth. Her eyes locked onto her computer screen and her fingers tapping against the keys in a constant *Clicking* noise.

Slowly walking I stopped once I reached the desk, after a few moments of her continuing to ignore me, I cleared my throat. Her head popped up and she smiled with her lipstick stained teeth.

"Well hello William!" She cheerily spoke, in response I smiled back. "Hello Mrs, Dakota. I was called up here?" I trailed off in question.

"Oh yes! Mrs, Hellena wants to speak with you about this mornings.. Um.. 'Incident'." She finished adding quotations. "Oh yes, that would seem to be a valid reason for me to be here."
