Ahaana POV
"I didn't believe you," said one of my friends in a perplexed tone.
"What the hell?" exclaimed another, clearly taken aback by my news.
"Oh my god!!! You've met your prince charming!" the third voice exclaimed excitedly.
All three of them had reacted dramatically to my news of the accident and the following incidents. The whole class attention was now turned towards us.
"Why are you guys shouting?" I whispered yet yelled at them.
They just shrugged at me casually. I didn't have the energy to deal with their shenanigans.
"Don't shoot me with your questions all at once," I said in my no-nonsense tone.
In the next second, they started bickering over who should ask me something first. When are the three of them going to grow up?
"Be like adults!! Why are you fighting over this silly matter?" I asked in frustration.
I shouldn't have even bothered, because my comment was immediately disregarded.
"Alright then, play rock, paper, scissors like professionals," I ordered them.
They glared at me with their judgemental eyes.
I glared right back.
Our glaring competition lasted for what felt like an eternity, but eventually, they caved.
"We agree," they said in unison.
They then proceeded to turn the warm-up process into something akin to a soccer match.
Why did I even befriend these people?
Suddenly, my phone began to ring, indicating that it was my mum calling.
My mouth curved into a smile. I picked up the call and made plans to leave my friends.
"Hey," they yelled as a chorus as I walked away.
They're definitely not happy about it.
"Hello mum," I said enthusiastically, having forgotten about my family due to the pressure of my studies.
"Are you still remembering me?" my mum asked sarcastically.
Meet Mrs. Sharanya Krish – cool yet strict, sarcastic yet supportive.
"How are you? And what about dad?" I asked.
"I am just wonderful without you, but not your dad," she said in a casual tone.
I chuckled at her response.
"Give it to me," I heard my parents bickering over the phone for a few minutes.
I wasn't surprised given that rambling tends to run in our family.
"Hello princess!! Why didn't you pick up my call? Is something wrong? Talk to me," rambled my typically-overprotective dad.
Meet Dr. Karthik Krish– my father, who is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.
Aarav, my brother, was quick to chime in with a snarky comment, saying, "For that, you have to let her speak."
I shook my head at his silly comment and assured my dad that I was safe where I was.
"Dad!!!No one is causing any problems for Anu. But, she is the biggest threat to the whole world because of her stupid stunts," said my brother, making a somewhat true yet humorous remark.
