Bonnie's session the next day with Damon, he called early due to her distraction. When she didn't even accept his offer of a drink and some conversation, he managed to wait until after she left to frown worriedly after her. He poured himself a drink and swirled it in his hand as he lost himself in thought. Was it because of the 'moment' they'd had yesterday? She'd decided that she'd rather not get close. He couldn't blame her if that was the case. He wasn't exactly an easy person to deal with and he knew that. She probably realized she was better off without him. She needed him to teach her to fight and that was it. Damon decided to keep their interaction within those parameters from now on.

Bonnie had no idea the inner turmoil she was leaving Damon in as she headed for Caroline's house. She was glad that her mother was at work today so they could talk privately. They still ensconced themselves in Caroline's room though for added privacy before Bonnie told her, "I want you to turn me."

"Huh?" Caroline asked with wide eyes, not sure she heard that correctly.

"I want to be a vampire. I want you to turn me," Bonnie said seriously.

"Where is this coming from?" Caroline asked worriedly.

"I've been thinking about it since I lost my magic actually," Bonnie told her. "I hate being a normal vulnerable human. I can't take it. I /need/ to be a part of the supernatural world. Like its in my bones. I can't get my magic back so this is the only way. Please, Caroline."

"Okay, so I'm not saying no. Just...I need to make sure you know what you're asking for," Caroline said, still a little taken aback. She wasn't going to take her friend's decision away from her, but she could at least make sure she was making an informed one. "If you become a vampire, you'll never be able to have kids or a family."

"I've never been completely sold on the idea of kids anyway," Bonnie shrugged. "If I'd kept my magic, I would have wanted at least one to carry on the family legacy and all," something she'd never gotten around to in the future, but had been considering before it was too late which it almost was. "But without it, I just don't see the point."

"You'll have to watch everyone you care about, aside from other vampires, grow old and die. You'll have to deal with losing them and have much more intense emotions to have to deal with it too."

"I know. And that'll suck. But I'll still have you. And you'll have me. You won't have to watch me die either. We can be there for each other," Bonnie replied. She knew Caroline well and knew exactly what objections she would bring up and had ready made responses for them.

"You won't be able to make lasting friends, or have a steady job, or do anything that puts you in the public eye," Caroline added.

"When have you ever known me to enjoy being in the public eye or having loads of friends? And I'm good with changing jobs and exploring different things over time and all," Bonnie told her.

"What about a daylight ring? Since you don't have your magic anymore..."

"Oh right. I almost forgot," Bonnie pulled the folded up paper from her pocket. "The daylight spell. Just in case you need to find another witch to cast it. Which I already did. I have my own daylight ring and even a spare in case either of us loses ours or if Elena ever decides to be a vampire too or whatever."

"You really have thought about this, haven't you," Caroline realized. If she'd already gone that far in her thinking then this obviously wasn't a spur of the moment thing. When Bonnie held up her hand with what was apparently the daylight ring already on it, she was sure of it. "Okay, just one more thing to make sure you know. The hunger. It never goes away. It's a constant ache that you'll have to learn to live with. Sure, it gets easier to ignore and all, but it's always there."
