Nick and Charlie have been together for two years and today was Nick's last day at Truham before he has to go to a University that September which means he wouldn't see Charlie that much anymore and that hurt to even think about.

Charlie walked into form and there Nick was waiting for him, that adorable smile on his face and his arms crossed. Charlie took his seat beside him and glanced over at him, looking into his lively hazel eyes. "Hi." Charlie greeted him with a soft smile. Nick grinned. "Hi." He greeted back.

"I can't believe today is your last day-" Nick shook his head, grabbing his arm as they stopped at the corridors. Charlie stood in front of him. "Let's just enjoy today, yeah?" "We can't just ignore-" Nick interrupting him once again. "Charlie." Charlie's smile dropped and he glanced down. "Sorry..." Nick laughed lightly and grabbed Charlie's hand causing him to look up at him. "I thought we agreed you couldn't say sorry anymore." Charlie opened his mouth to speak but Nick shook his head lightly. "Don't say it." Nick said, a slight smile on his face. Charlie glanced up at him and Nick's smile grew. "Now, come on, let's enjoy today." Charlie nodded. "Okay."

The school day flew by quite quickly. Summer vacation had officially started. Nick and Charlie spent most of the summer having movie nights with Elle, Tao and Issac, having milkshake dates, and occasional double dates with Tara and Darcy. As summer was coming to a close, Charlie became very distant from Nick. He became depressed. He was avoiding Nick's calls and the day before Nick was to leave, he showed up at Charlie's house.

Nick knocked on the front door and after a while, it opened. Nick met eyes with Tori. "Is Charlie here?" Tori stepped aside, letting him walk into the house and she shut the door. "He's upstairs in his room." Nick nodded at her and turned and began walking up the stairs. "Nick." Tori called out. Nick turned his head to look at her, stopping after the first few steps. Tori looked up at him, a concerned look on her face. "You know why he's avoiding you?" Nick reluctantly nodded. "Yeah..." She nodded lightly. "He needs reassurance that you'll be there when you leave." She told him. "I know." He said in a soft voice. She nodded once again and after a moment, Nick turned and paced up the stairs and walked into Charlie's bedroom to find him playing the drums aggressively. Nick gulped nervously and walked up to him and removed his headphones from his head. Charlie flinched and stopped abruptly and looked up at him. "Hey..." Charlie just stared at him. "Can we talk?" Nick stared at him in desperation. Charlie nodded lightly and stood up and sat on his bed. Nick set his headphones on the stool Charlie once sat and joined him on the bed. They sat in silence for quite some time before Nick spoke. "Charlie-" "I'm sorry." Charlie blurted out. Nick looked over at him and furrowed his eyebrows. "What?" "I shouldn't have ignored you.. I just didn't want to face the fact you were going to leave me..." Nick's face softened and he placed his hand on Charlie's leg. "Charlie," He looked up at Nick, tears in his eyes. "I still want us to be together, we're just not going to see each other." Charlie looked down. Nick stared at him for a moment before he spoke again. "But!" Charlie looked back up at him. "I'll call you.. every night and we'll facetime." Charlie smiled slightly. "Promise?" Nick nodded lightly. "Promise." He said without hesitation and Charlie's smile grew.

Nick pulled on his jacket as the two stood at the front door. Charlie watched him, tears filling his eyes. Nick sighed and looked up at him just for his smile to fade when he looked into his glossy blue eyes. "Hey.." His hand reached up to his cheek and he stepped closer to the younger boy. "Don't cry." He said softly, wiping away a tear that fell down his cheek with his thumb. "I can't help it. I won't see you for a very long time and I don't think I can handle that-" "It's going to be alright, Char. We'll still talk everyday." Charlie nodded. "I know..." Their lips pressed gently together. "I love you, Charlie Spring." Charlie laughed lightly and sniffled. "I love you, too, Nick Nelson." He replied, staring into Nick's eyes. Nick smiled softly and they stared at each other before colliding into an embrace. They stayed like this for while, neither one of them wanting to let go. Nick even began to tear up. Their grasp tightened around each other and after another moment, they pulled back and Nick smiled at him before he turned and opened the front door and walked out into the slightly chilly night. He turned back to look at Charlie standing in the doorway. "Bye..." Nick said. "Bye..." Charlie replied, forcing a slight smile and Nick turned and the door shut behind him once he got in his car. He sat there for what felt like an eternity before turning the key in the ignition and he drove off.
