Nick and Charlie have been in a relationship for 8 years now, they were still both very young, but Nick was ready to take their relationship to the next level. He was going to ask Charlie to marry him. He asked Charlie's best friends Tao Xu and Aled Last to come with him to get the ring, but of course, he didn't tell them that. He wanted to wait until they got to the jewelry shop to tell them the big news.
"Okay, we're here." Nick says, parking the car.
Tao and Aled look over and were surprised to see a jewelry shop.
"What are we doing at a jewelry shop?" Tao asks and he looks back at Nick who was staring at them in anticipation and he grins.
"I'm going to propose to Charlie. Tonight."
They gasp excitedly and then, Aled says, "Nick, that's great."
"Yeah, but why are we here?" Tao asks, his eyebrows furrowed.
"I wanted to get opinions and I didn't know anyone better than Charlie's two best friends."
"Well, we are the best." Says Tao.
"So, will you help me?" Nick asks. He had a look that consists of both desperation and excitement.
"Of course we will." Aled says, placing a hand on Nick's shoulder and Nick smiles graciously.
"Thank you guys. This means a lot."
"Yeah, yeah. You can thank us later with a free meal 'cause I am starving." Tao says and gets out of the car. Nick and Aled share a laugh then they follow Tao into the shop.
"Hello, welcome to Kay's. How can I help you?"
"Hi, I was looking for a ring. I want to propose to my boyfriend."
"Well, we just got a new selection in this morning. Would you like to take a look?"
"Yes, please."
The woman pulls a box from inside a case and places the box on the counter and smiles up at Nick. Tao and Aled step in when Nick stared blankly at the selection, overwhelmed by the large selection.
"Hm.. This is a beautiful selection Ma'am. Do you pick all of these yourself?" Tao asks, looking up at the woman and she nods.
"Yes, I do." She says.
"You have lovely taste." Aled says and she smiles.
Tao turns and looks at Nick and asks, "Nick, what are we thinking? Silver?"
"I-"
"Too clique. What about Rose Gold?" Aled asks.
Nick turns his attention over to him and says, "I don't-"
"Nah. Definitely not. Remember when I got Charlie that Rose Gold necklace for his 20th birthday?"
"Mm.. Not his favorite."
Nick looks back and forth from the two as they continue.
Aled goes on to say, "They do have a great Carbon Fiber selection."
