You hated where you lived
In the city you lived in things were always falling apart the heroes did their job and then they go about their lives like repair isn't necessary between the anti-hero protests and the almost constant fight to end the scourge of robots things have been a little more chaotic but it seems things are settling down
oh to be able to clasp your hands over your ears and ignore it like every body else you wish you could drown it out with music just something other than the wreckage of the world around you
You were just trying to sleep everybody else seemed to get used to the noise not you
It was 6 am and the constant crashing would've been enough to make a normal person scream to the top of their lungs
You merely groaned and slowly ripped yourself from your bed your feet clumsily hitting carpet as you wobbled toward the mirror rubbing at your eyes as you tried to blindly fix your messy hair
You looked rough and now that you think about it you don't remember the last time you have gotten up in a while.
But now, you looked like you hadn't taken care of yourself at all
Yikes..
It's going to take you awhile to fix this mess
As you combed through your hair you thought about the new damage repairs and construction that would be overtaking your building now due to the hole in the right side of the building might as well cue the loud construction and loud ass beeping now. It was never the construction workers fault though right now it would be easy to get a job in construction because of demand for construction workers for obvious reasons
Oh to keep up with the demand
______
Anubis had been busy on west side of the city doing what he does best
But his shift ended early today due to the extra back up which he wasn't complaining about
Things were finally getting better on the robot front
Drew tried to make more of an effort to speak to people, to smile, to laugh but it all came out looking as good as his acting
Really bad...
Drew couldn't smile on cue or openly fake a laugh his team made it even more noticeable they all encouraged each other to be themselves but if he were himself he would surely come off as arrogant and rude right?
There was really nothing to do but go home now the other people in his profession were mostly very talkative and bubbly
If it wasn't for his... peculiar looks he would blend into the background like a post but with the noise of the city how could his voice be louder than the would around him? It was nearly impossible to meet any kind of expectations or demand
As he walked the main street he couldn't help but think about the damage he saved yet caused to the city
The job of a hero is to eliminate demand of one
Many hero's see it as a job
But as long as inflation keeps inflating and demand keeps on demanding
life will never return to what it was
The world was now modified for demand
