Parker's POV
"Now I know this is delicate Parker, but we do need your account of what happened that day".
I took a shaky breath. "I still can't-" My throat felt choked. "I still can't get their screams out of my head."
Toni's POV
"We couldn't see them, you know. We could hear them. If I'm being honest I can still hear them."

Fatin's POV
"It could've lasted a second."
Toni's POV
"Or maybe an hour...I don't know..."
Parker's POV
"It felt like that moment was infinite. In the worst way possible. It still is. But then-"
Toni's POV
"She was just..."

"Nora! Nora!"

Dot's POV
"Gone."
Shelby's POV
"She was gone."
Fatin's POV
"It was Dot who saw her first."

"Rachel!" Dot ran over to the girl who had finally clawed her way to the shore. "You're bleeding! Where are you bleeding!?"
"I lost her..."

Shelby's POV
"Some of us froze..."
Toni's POV
"But some of us sort of just, knew what to do."

"I'm gonna have to cauterize it. Hold her down." Dot held the axe over the fire as the rest of the girls except Leah held Rachel down.
Rachel's screams echoed into infinity even as she bit down on the waterlogged designer belt from Fatin's armoire of a suitcase.

Fatin's POV
"Some of us took it harder than others, who let the whole thing...shatter them."

Leah dragged Fatin and her sister through the woods. They stopped at a clearing of dirt. Packed solid with soil.
"NO!" Leah fell to her knees.
"Leah, I thought you said-" Parker began.
"The pit was here! Nora put me here!" Leah dug fruitlessly into the ground with a futile attempt to find proof of her capture.
The elder sister screamed to the sky, the open void of the stratosphere. Maybe if she was lucky one of these discordant notes would catch in the wind and reach the ears of someone who cared enough back home. But who did she really have that would care besides the girls on that island?
