Tissues woke up to the sunrise. He was very tired and dizzy. Tissues had vertigo then vertistop. He wobbled and groaned as he tried to get his bearings. He looked around his room. The plush toy dragon he got from Paper at Christmas was on his bed. Tissues liked to cuddle with it at night, going as far to make sure it was safe. He sighed.

"What time is it?", he asked to himself.

He looked and saw the time:

7:30 am.

Weird, he never gets up this early.

No matter. Tissues went to the door and walked out to get the elevator. He never took the stairs because his sneezes and vertigo would hinder him. The last time he went down the stairs, he fell and tumbled down. Yin-Yang and Paper had to bandage his knees and arms after the fall. This all happened some time after the Christmas party.

"I gotta be more careful.", Tissues thought to himself.

Tissues made his way to the lobby and found the breakfast buffet. He grabbed his food and sat down on the couch.

Tissues sneezed and blew his nose into his handkerchief.

The handkerchief was given to him by Test Tube before the Christmas party and he carried it in one hand at all times because of how bad his sickness was.

Suddenly, Fan entered the lobby with his own food.

"Bless you, Tissues. How is it going?", he asked. "I am doing OK.", Tissues replied. He was trying not to fall asleep because of his sickness.

"Oh, Tissues, I am so sorry. Your sickness is just terrible.", he said. Tissues nodded as he sneezed again, making sure to sneeze in his hanky as he didn't want to snot-blast Fan in the face.

Test Tube and Dr. Fizz arrived. Dr. Fizz examined Tissues and made sure he was stable.

He wasn't.

"Oh, my. I guess we have to use the higher dose of your medicine to calm this down. None of this is normal, not even someone sick with this kind of sickness.", said Dr. Fizz  as he ignored Yin-Yang bowing down to him, repeatedly.

This worried Tissues. He knew his condishawn was bad but he didn't know it was bad to the point where even the doctor told him this wasn't normal.

Yin-Yang noticed Tissues' worry. He patted Tissues on the head a few times. " Don't worry. You should be fine.", said Yin. Yang frowned but said nothing. Tissues sighed and looked down, dejected.

"No, it is alright. I have always been sick like this, there is nothing left for me.", he said. Tissues tried not to cry as he felt a lump in his throat. Paper, who was on the room, gave Tissues a hug. Paper held onto Tissues as if Tissues would slip away from him forever. Tissues couldn't help but hug back, burying his face into Paper's chest. Tissues used his entire strength- which wasn't much- to keep himself from bursting out sobbing.

"Shh, shh. There, there, Tissues. We are here for you. We are going to do whatever it takes to help you feel better.", said Paper.

Tissues smiled, some tears threatened to fall, yet he still managed to act like he was OK. The smile, however, was genuine.

Poor Tissues rarely smiled. And if he did, he would force it. It was part of his nature and made it his routine.

But, this smile, was genuine.

"Thank you, Paper. On the bright side, my condishawn can't get any worse.", he said.

Paper smiled.

Dr. Fizz arrived and gave Tissues his medicine. He took it with no problem. Soon, Tissues started to feel sleepy.

"Get some sleep, Tissues, higher doses of this medicine causes one to sleep if they are not used to it.", said Dr. Fizz. Tissues fell asleep while everyone walked out of the room.

Dr. Fizz sighed.

"I have never seen anyone with the condishawn this bad before. I fear that if nothing changes, he will not have a long life to live.", he explained to the others.

Everyone was concerned and worried.

"No, say it isn't so. Please, do something to help him.", said Trophy. Dr. Fizz shook his head.

"I am afraid I am doing all I can. We are going to have to hook Tissues up to some wires and machines to keep him stable if things don't improve. I will keep you guys posted.", Dr. Fizz said, gravely. Everyone slowly nodded in understanding as he left.

Now, everyone was left alone.

Little did everyone know that Tissues overheard everything, having to wake up to drink water.

"Why must I keep being such a hindrance to everyone with my condishawn? Wires and machines? Not having a long life to live?!", Tissues paused after uttering that line to himself. "What is even the point of having everyone go through so much for something that can be so little?"

********************

Tissues was feeling sorry for himself. He knew he had to do something because he couldn't just continue to abuse his friends' generosity to help him constantly with his needs and condishawn symptoms. It just wasn't right. That's when he made the decision that would change everything...

"I must leave. I can't keep doing this. I can't keep bothering my friends and take advantage of them. *sniff* I must leave. I need to go."

Little did Tissues know, his troubles had just begun.
