Luna lay upon her small, single bed and felt the soft quilt beneath her chest. Tucking away a ruly strand of auburn hair, she cast her attention back on her book. This did not last long, however, as she found her gaze drifting towards her bookshelf. Luna bit her lower lip, she really wanted to read some of those books; namely, "Charlotte's Web" was catching her eye. But she had promised Daddy that she would read her school book, hadn't she? Oh, but "To Kill a Mockingbird" was just so dull. Well, Walter Cunningham was interesting, but that offered her little consolation. So, Luna huffed and went back to her book, each word seeming longer than the next.

Finn poured an oblong pancake, successfully keeping it within the confines of the saucepan. Cooking, or baking for that matter, was far from anything Finn enjoyed doing, it felt more of a chore than anything else. But, whenever it was his little girl he was preparing food for, the burden was lifted. Finn let his gaze wander as he awaited the telltale bubbles on the pancake and soon found himself fixated on the floral door in Luna's room. It had been four months since they had moved in together, and on most occasions, they did sleep together in their room. But Finn had found that when Lulu was in her little space, she saw him as less of a boyfriend, and sometimes preferred her own 'big girl' bed.

Once three pancakes were cooked, Finn served them onto two plates, with two pancakes for Luna, naturally. After cutting up Luna's pancakes into small portions, and dousing them with maple syrup, the plates were moved to the breakfast table along with a cup of tea, and a sippy cup of apple juice. Finn stared pitifully at the table, more specifically, the lack of a highchair. They were young, and after fitting LuLu's bedroom, there was not enough money for much else. Especially once the constant nappy expenditure was taken into account, and Luna's partiality to pull-ups. "When she is out of little space," Finn decided, "I'll give her an option: if she moves to cloth nappies, I will put three-quarters of the savings into her accessories."

Luna kicked her legs slowly, trying to ease her boredom. That bookshelf was so tempting but she had to be good for daddy. She had to... She put the book down and closed her eyes, a short break couldn't hurt, could it? Reading was never one of her strong suits, and the small poop she made recently was exciting her a little too much, which didn't help. Luckily she had Finn, he always helped her with her work. Pursuing literature into university was solely as Luna had wanted to become a writer not to read old books! Then, her door creaked open, and she turned to see Finn awaiting her.

"Breakfast is ready pumpkin," he said with a smile, gazing upon his little angel.

"Otay daddy," grinned back Luna, just happy to be relieved of her book. Until her smile widened at the scent of pancakes, her favourite! "Yay! pancakes!" said Luna, embracing her daddy in a bear hug, "tank uoo."

Luna waited patiently as Finn snapped her favourite Peppa Pig bib around her neck and sat her down at the table. She had pooped less than she had previously thought, which was probably why the ever-so-observant Finn had not noticed yet. But that also meant the enjoyment of sitting in it was limited, but she hoped to change that soon. For now, Luna feasted her eyes upon her breakfast and began to dig in, fingers first.

Finn sat adjacent to Luna, at the head of the table, and noticed his little girl shuffle slightly as she sat. It had been about an hour since her last change, recalled Finn, therefore he decided after breakfast was due time for a nappy check. Picking up a teaspoon, Finn began to evenly sprinkle a small amount of sugar upon his pancake. Normally, he wouldn't even add sugar, but when he made pancakes for Lulu, he never added sugar in the mix, knowing she would get more than enough in her syrup. Finn did suppose this made him bland, as often stated by his mates, but he saw no problem with this, and Luna definitely did not mind one bit. And she was the one who mattered most. So, Finn picked up his fork and knife and began to slowly eat his pancake, and drink his tea, watching Luna cover herself in maple syrup.
