Chapter 8: Always and Forever

Erza's POV

~Hours later at the back of the house~

Nothing..I feel nothing. No tears, no emotions at all...Lucy's head was rest of her legs while I was laying on my back next to her, looking at the open sea..The sun was rising, making a fiery sky...The only sound we could hear was the waves crashing down on the sand and the wind blowing the trees..It was peaceful but depressing..

"Erzy?.." Lucy mumbled, "Why does this happen to us? Are we just bad luck, playing this game of life?" I sat up and looked at her.

"I dunno Lulu, but I do know that I hate feeling this way.." She turned her head to face me.

"What are you feeling?" She asked me, "Can you tell me?" I layed back down with my hands under my head..

"Nothing..I don't feel sad, angry, depressed or well..Loved..Seeing my mother die before my eyes again. I can't seem to cry. No matter how sad I am..Just..Emptiness." I put an arm out for Lucy to lay on. Which she did, her body facing mine..

"Do you feel my love for you?" I whipped my head to Lucy in shock! What is she thinking?? "I-It's just that you said you didn't feel l-loved..Does that mean mine t-too?" I shook my head 'no.'

"Of course I feel yours, it's just the love from..Mom..E-Even though-" She put a hand on my cheek, I looked into her chocolate eyes..The sea had just touched our bare feet..Cold as ice..

"Erza, I get it..Losing a family member is the worst thing to happen to you..To us.." She shifted closer to my body, "Believe me..I've been through it too many times..So promise me this.." I put my arm around her body as lulu started to cry..

"What is it?.."

"Promise..." She inhaled, "Promise me that you won't ever leave me or die on me!" I had my eyes wide open, I had us both sit up. We stared into eachothers eyes, I smiled softly..

"I promise..How about you?..Do you promise me to stay by my side? Always and Forever?" Lucy smiled..

"Always and Forever.." We hugged and kissed..Then, she spoke, "It's nice to see a smile on your face again.." I chuckled..

"You too Lucy, your smile brightens my day.."

~In the town~

Natsu's POV

I can't believe Wendy! She ABANDONED THE MISSION the team was supposed to do TOGETHER! Now it's just me, ice freak, Happy and Carla! I growled a bit..Luce and Scary Erza are gonna pay for stealing a team member..As I was rambling in my brain, I didn't notice Gray grabbing my hand and dragging me down an alley..It was small so I didn't have much room to move.

"Hey flame brain! Snap out of it!" I blinked multiple times..

"Huh?" Gray sighed.

"Natsu, you were growling at a kid in front of you! You damn idiot made me apologize for it!" I laughed a little and rubbed the back of my head..

"Did I? Oops, my bad stripper!" Gray was getting angry..

"Natsu! YOU WERE LITERALLY ON FIRE FOR MAVIS SAKE! You scared the boy so badly!" The fact Gray was yelling at me, somehow scared me for the first time ever..

"I-I'm sorry G-Gray.." I took a step back..

"Next time, try to CONTROL your flames! I may not be able to be there!" I got a little hurt..

"G-Gray.." Then..He said something that broke me..

"DAMN IT NATSU! WHY AM I EVEN DATING YOU!?" That was my limit..Yes I seem tough and alway bragging to others but, I'm really just a softy, a big one..I looked away from the taller boy, I could feel my eyes wanting to let my tears go..But I wouldn't have it..Gray back up to the wall, realizing what he said..
