Chapter- 5: Did she just....?

Bella's P.O.V

"Well, I think it's better if we become friends. You know, no more annoying things ". I said. He was in shock."Jake?"  I said and started shaking his shoulder. "You said Friends ?" He finally spoke. "um... Yes." I let out a giggle. And then he hugged me. I was surprised but instead of pulling away i hugged him back."So.... you're not going to annoy me anymore are you ?" I said while pulling away. He chuckled. The bell rang...."We're late" we both said at the same time. And then we started running through the hallways to get into the chemistry lab on time.

We weren't late at all. The teacher just arrived. We smiled at each other and went to our seat. This time I sat with Jake without any hesitation. Because I glanced some girls gazing at me like they're gonna kill me the next moment. I kinda felt safe around Jake.
The chemistry teacher asked everyone to repeat the experiment he did a while ago. I grabbed my glass capillary and repeated the experiment. Then I heard a blast sound. It was Jake who just dipped the flaming thingy into the solution instead of a glass capillary. I laughed at him. "Oh Mr. Paul, when will you learn not to make big explosions in the chemistry lab ?" The teacher said. I giggled. Because it was obvious that Jake made explosions in every chemistry class we've been having this week. "Another big discovey sir....THE FIRE 🔥 ATOMIC BLAST" He said and the whole class burst out laughing.

After school, the teacher asked me to get some biochem books from the library. So i went to the library to grab the books. While I was leaving Someone bumped into me. ORR... I bumped into someone. "I'm sorry" I apologized. I saw that I bumped into a group of five girls. "You better watch where you are going." A girl with short brown hair said. "Well, aren't you the girl who sat beside Jake in the chemistry class ?" A blonde girl asked. "You're trying to get close to my Jake?"another girl said. Then the blonde girl grabbed my hair. "You better stay away from him". She yelled. I tried to get away from her grip but it hurted me instead. "What do you want from me ?" I asked. "Oh nothing just this" she said as she tightened her grip. "STAY AWAY FROM HIM !"she yelled. I was so scared what are these girls gonna do to me ? I just nodded. "Good "she said as she releases my hair.  One of the girls took the books from my hand and threw them on the hard floor. Then they all went. I fell on the floor with my face down as tears fell down. I picked up the books and went to the office to hand them to the teacher. Once i did so, I went off running. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore.

Jake's P.O.V.

After school, at the gate,

I was waiting for Bella outside of the school gate. The teacher asked her to get some books from the library. I was just thinking of her and someone came running. It was Bella. "Hey bell..." I stopped when I noticed she was crying. "Bella ? What's wrong?" I asked while getting closer. "Maybe w-we shouldn't be friends."she said
She just looked away still crying and sobbing. Before I could ask a single question she went off running straight to her car and drove off. "Did she just...?"I mumbled.  I think I know what exactly happened. Someone  probably said something hard to her.
