Libraries. Merida hated them, but it was the only place she could see the cute librarian.
She would grab a random book and pretend to read. She would eventually catch a glimpse of the nerdy guy and kind of stare in awe of how he could make glasses and sweater vests look sexy.

"You enjoying that book you got there?" The guy spoke to Merida for the first time. His voice sounded hot. Just imagine his morning voice.

"Yes its the best book I've ever read!"
She lied. She hasn't even read the cover.

He chuckled a little.
"I didn't know you liked smutty books. No offense." He said as Merida looked at the cover.

'Fifty Shades of Gray.'Merida turned beet red and wanted to die.
"Oh my god. This is...." She wanted to cry of embarrassment. "I hate my life." She sighed before putting the book back and running out.
Hiccup ran out the door behind her.
"Hey! You forgot your..." She was nowhere to be seen.
"Library card...." He whispered walking back inside.

Merida sat at the dinner table picking at her food.
"Merida...a lady does not pick at her food." The middle aged woman reprimanded her daughter.

"Ma I'm not hungry." Merida said. For the first time Merida hadn't yelled back a snide remark or got up and made a scene.

"Lass are ye feeling well?" Her mother said feeling her forehead with the back of her hand.

"I'm fine! I'm just... Can I be excused?" Merida sighed not really in the mood for an argument.

"Very well then..." Merida sighed as she picked up her plate and left it in the kitchen. She made her way up try the staircase and opened the door to her room.
"I'm such a fool!" She yelled.

She heard the doorbell.
"Merida! Can you get that!?"
Merida groaned.
She opened the door slowly and saw him.
She tried to close the door but it stopped.
"Ow..." Merida looked down at the boys foot.
"What are you doing here?" She said opening the door.
"I came to give you your library card."
She looked at him and opened the door wider.
"Um c'mon in. If you want." She said offering him the entrance.
"Well um...okay." He said going inside the cozy house.

"You want something to drink?" Merida said offering him a seat.
"Coffee? Water? Juice?" She said walking around him like a vulture hovering around its prey.
"Juice sounds good." He chuckled as he thought about the events at the library. Why was she so embarrassed? He's seen many people read that smut before. He checked it out a few times only to be disgusted by the details.

"Here. We only have apple juice." Merida sat down across from him and watched him.
'What is she waiting for?' He asked himself as he looked down and saw the cup.

"Oh! Thank you. My name's Hiccup." He sipped the golden liquid that slightly reminded him of pee.
"You're Merida. I know because I read your information in order to return your card. Here." He said handing her the library card.
"I even checked out this book for you."
She cringed at the title.
She sighed and he stared at her in confusion. She had said it was the best book she ever read.

"I wasn't really reading it. I just...." She thought about what she was going to say and it sounded creepy.
"I- I liked to catch a glimpse of you every now and then..." Merida covered her face with a cushion.

"Oh...um well... I got the job in the library because I saw you there once. I thought I would see you more often there.."
His face turned beet red. Merida looked up.

"Really?" Her voice shook with embarrassment. He smiled and chuckled a little.
"Yeah."
They smiled at each other nervously.

"Merida who is this young man?" Elinor whispered into her daughter's ear.

"Oh my gosh! Mam!!" Merida squealed remembering her parents were in the house.
"Good afternoon ma'am ,I'm your daughters boyfriend." Hiccup said shaking Elinor's hand. Merida stood there wide eyed.
