14: island kittens

The sun sneaked through the certains giving that sold morning glow as they softy moved with the wind.

The clock beside me read 8:34am.

I listened for Aria and heard no noise in the house so assumed she wasn't up yet.

Once I had rested in bed for a few more minutes I got out and into the shower.

I finished my skin care, now time for the hardest part of the day.

What to wear, what to wear.

I searched through my closet until I found the perfect outfit.

I changed into my outfit for the day and jog downstairs.

I stare out the window for a couple minutes watching the soft waves hit the sore.

I decide I'm going to make Aria and I breakfast.

A smoothy bowl is what I decide on.

After a few minutes, it looks perfect.

I hear loud thumping noises coming down the stairs.

I raise my head to see Aria running down the stairs shouting " SMOOTHY BOWL"

One thing to know about Aria is she loves smoothy bowls, like I'm talking LOVE love.

I handed her smoothy bowl to her as she scoffed it down.

"Aria your a lady not an animal, slow down." She looked up at me and snorted.

"Talk about being a lady when I'm looking at you" my mouth hung open.

"Right that's it" I chased her around the house until she tripped.

I put her in a head lock "say that again I dare you."

"I-I'm sorry" she wheezed out.

I let her go then turned on the tv.

We both looked at the weather and there was a severe weather warning for lots of rain and wind coming through and we were right in the middle of it.

Aria and I looked at each other before going outside to bring everything in that could fly away.

"Divya come help me tie this down" I walked over to see Aria trying to tie the trampoline down.

We both walked inside until I heard something.

"Aria" I put my index finger to my mouth signalling for her to be quiet.

It sounded like a tiny squeak.

I followed the sound to see a bunch of black kittens curled up in a ball.

Aria rushed inside to grab a blanket while I looked for the mum.

They were so tiny and they were shivering.

We both picked the kittens up and put them in the blanket then took them inside.

I inspected them more closely to see they had flees.

"Aria run a warm flee bath for these poor babies and let me know if you see the mum at all." Aria nodded.

I made them some milk because they were not old enough yet to eat.

They couldn't even open their eyes yet so I would say they were about 5 days old.

"We're are you mama" I whispered.

"Baths ready" Aria shouted.

"I'm sorry baby's you are going to hate this." I looked down at them.

We both bathed all 4 of them.

Aria and I looked at each other as we heard the rain bashing down on the roof and the waves were crazy, you couldn't even see out past the waves they were that big.

While Aria dried the kittens something caught my eye.

There was a black thing in the ocean waves.

Only then I realised it was the mama cat drowning.

I ran outside as quick as I could and dived into the ocean waves.

As I swam out I could feel the waves bashing down on my back.

Let's just say it hurt.

I picked the mama cat up and swam as fast as I could back to shore than ran inside.

Aria saw I had the mama cat in my arms so she emptied the dirty water and refilled it with warm water.

This cat liked the warm water because she didn't cry at all.

Once we had the kittens fed and the mama cat dry we put them on my bed all together under the covers.

I put pillows around them to make sure one of the babies didn't fall off.

We both walked down to eat some chips.

"Well what are we going to name them" I asked Aria.

She smirked " cheese, chicken nugget, nugget, mango and the mum can be shadow." I laughed and nodded.

Aria and I sat on the couch watching tv.

I put the fire on and we both roasted some marshmallows.

I wanted a cuddled with the kittens so I walked up the stairs and lied in bed with them.

Aria came in "hey I want cuddles to" she the jumped on me.

"Get your fat ass off me" she rolled off some and we both fell asleep cuddling the kittens.

I woke up to some loud thunder and decided I should make some dinner.

I turned the oven in and took out some Dino nuggets and chips then put then both on a tray.

I searched through the fringe to find some things to make a salad.

Once I had found everything I needed I chopped it all up and put it into the bowl.

By the time I was done Aria had woken and came down.

"Oh look the devil has awoken" she gave me a wack on the head.

I grumbled under my breath then picked up a volleyball I saw and through it at her.

I laughed as it hit her square in the face.

She then through it at me but I dogged it.

This went on until the nuggets were ready.

I pulled them out of the oven.

"You made Dino nuggets" Aria asked me in a baby voice, I sighed and nodded.

We both got some salad and nuggets then ate while throwing insults at each other.

My insults were better tho.
